Cristina Torre, Joe Torre's Daughter, Saves Baby Falling From Window With Perfect Catch!

by at . Comments

Cristina Torre, the 44-year-old daughter of former New York Yankees manager Joe Torre, made an all-time catch yesterday afternoon in Brooklyn.

She was walking along the street when she saw a 1-year-old boy about to fall from the awning of a building. When he did, she caught him in mid-air!

“The woman caught the baby,” said witness Kristen Bramsen, 48. “The baby was shaken. Everyone was going up to the woman and hugging her."

But the daughter of the legendary baseball skipper didn’t gloat one bit.

“She just smiled and said she was in shock,” Bramsen recalled.

As the saying goes ... never take your eye off the baby.

Cops later said that the boy slipped through a piece of cardboard next to an air conditioning unit in the window of the family’s second-floor home.

It was not immediately clear where the parents were during the baby’s near-fatal escape, but both of them were handcuffed and taken into custody.

Sam Miller, 23, and Tiffany Demetria, 24, face charges that include endangering the welfare of a child and neglect, law enforcement sources said.

The little boy was taken to Lutheran Hospital, where he was placed under observation, but is believed to be fine thanks to Cristina Torre's save.

The child and his siblings - ages 2, 3 and 5 - were all taken into custody by New York City’s Administration for Children’s Services, sources said.

She's a hero!

Thanks Christina for saving the life of a baby. It's unfortunate these parents neglected him and allowed him to get into such a dangerous situation. This should be an eye opener to all young parents never take your eyes off a small child. It only takes seconds for a child to go from safety to a death threatening condition. I do think this is to many kids for a couple this young but that isn't any of my business.

how awesome and good for her!..3 cheers for christina torre

they did it all for the movie, folks!!

I hope Children Services check into this, too many children close in age for this young couple, where was everyone else for this child to fall out a window? They need to stop having babies, get a job, educated and take care of the kids they already have.

@ Binky

I agree Children Services does need to check into the reasoning behind this child not being watched closer. Although it isn't up to you or anyone else as to how many children they have. Nor do you know whether one or both parents work neither do you know what kind of education they have. This could have been a pure accident no one knows otherwise. I think it's wrong to judge these parents as unemployed, uneducated people that doesn't take care of their children.
