Sultry pop star Katy Perry has been branded the Devil Child.
By her own father, in his fiery Sunday morning sermons!
Firebrand preacher Keith Perry says, according to reports, that watching his daughter’s shows is such a “hellish” experience that he ends up crying.
Not because of her sexy outfits (though that would keep any dad up at night), but “because the fans are worshipping the singer instead of God.”
In sermons, he has reportedly urged his congregations to “pray for Katy.”
Keith and wife Mary are currently touring U.S. churches as star speakers.
They show a video portraying Katy as a “devil child” who needs “healing.”
Speaking in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., Keith ranted recently: “They ask how can I preach if I produce a girl who sang about kissing another girl?”
“I was at a concert of Katy’s where there were 20,000 people. I’m watching this generation and they were going at it. It almost looked like church.”
“I stood there and wept and kept on weeping and weeping,” he added.
“They’re loving and worshipping the wrong thing.”
One would hope these quotes are exaggerated, but Katy has had a challenging (for lack of a better word) relationship with her parents in recent years.
