Reese Witherspoon acted like anything but America's Sweetheart to police in Atlanta early Friday, as both the actress and husband Jim Toth were arrested during a traffic stop.
Sources tell TMZ officers pulled over the couple's Ford Fusion because it was weaving in and out of lanes.
As the cops spoke to Jim, Reese played the fame card, reportedly, telling them: "You're about to find out who I am ... You are going to be on national news."
While Toth was booked for drunk driving - allegedly blowing a .139 on a Breathalyzer - the Oscar winner grew visibly frustrated with the ordeal.
She reportedly got out her car on multiple occasions and was eventually arrested for disorderly conduct as a result.
Jim and Reese were both taken into custody and released a short while later.
The police report describes Jim's eye lids as "droopy" and his eyes as "blood shot and watery."
The officer on the scene also detected a "strong odor" of alcohol emanating from Toth.
UPDATE: Witherspoon apologized in the following statement:
“Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now."
"But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said."
"It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job."
"I have nothing but respect for the police and I’m very sorry for my behavior.”
