Kate Gosselin, Bullyville Under Scrutiny For Exposing Haters' Identities Online

by at . Comments

Kate Gosselin and the website Bullyville recently encouraged the discovery of the real identities of some of the people who threatened her online.

Always a controversial figure, Kate is now at the center of a war between anti-bully activists and harsh critics of the reality star ... of which there are many.

Katie Gosselin

James McGibney, head of Bullyville (dot com), exposed the real identities of numerous alleged Kate haters on Monday in a move that raised eyebrows.

He also threatened to call the employers of the Kate bashers, including the alleged older woman stalker who allegedly sent Kate more than 72,000 tweets.

For her part, Kate Gosselin is encouraging those who seek to protect her, as they reveal identities of others they said crossed the line while attacking her.

Throughout Monday, as McGibney unveiled the “real identities” of various Kate haters, Kate retweeted messages chronicling the unmasking of alleged bullies.

She previously expressed strong support for Bullyville and others who sought to protect her by revealing “bullies," thanking them for "cleaning house."

Kate recently Tweeted: “yes I proudly support all LEGAL means to bring bullies - who thought they could hide to light - on the internet or in school. @bullyville #stop”

But McGibney made it clear his actions were his own, and rejected the notion that Kate’s encouragement meant she was ordering an operation against her enemies.

“No one encourages me to do anything," the Bullyville founder told celebrity news site Radar Online. "I’m a grown man who makes his own decisions. :-)”

“For the record: Bullyville is going after Kate Gosselin’s bullies for specific death threats and over 100,000 slanderous and libelous posts.”

She clearly supports the mission. When Bullyville exposed one person believed to be dangerous to Kate Gosselin, she re-tweeted their message:

Kate Gosselin Staked

“Dear (name redacted), AGE 56, from (town redacted) Texas. Do you really think that your death threat references to @Kateplusmy8 are funny?”

The image above, showing Kate bloody and impaled, was reportedly a catalyst to start the operation to expose people he believes crossed the line.

But are they going too far in targeting alleged "bullies"?

One person “outed” as a Kate Gosselin hater said:

“He and Bullyville put my name, address, phone number, my teenager’s email address on (Web site redacted). For what!? Not liking Kate Gosselin?"

"Now Bullyville is saying they are going to all my employer?"

"I don’t know what he would say that would get me in trouble but I am a single mom living paycheck to paycheck. Bullyville and Kate G are the real bullies here."

“I never attacked, threatened or harassed anyone, ever.”

What do you think? Are Kate and Bullyville going too far?

With everything going on in the world bullyville decides to help this person? Makes them look kind of stupid don't you think? Kate Gosselin is no victim.

At the end of the day, Bullyville and Kate have a point. If internet criticism escalates to the point of threatening your life or the wellbeing of your children, it's gone too far and you should be held accountable for the things that you say and do online. I think it's a massive waste of time to be sending tens of thousands of tweets intended to hurt or coerce a stranger. I think it's a little silly that the bullies are so strong and tough until someone reveals their name-- if you're upset that people know the one who did or said something cruel on the internet was you, don't say or do cruel things on the internet. it's a public forum. you can't write something to potentially billions of people and expect nobody to see, respond or investigate it if it's inappropriate. bullyville is not encouraging violence (like Charlie Sheen did with the whole "throw poop on my daughter's school" thing) and is simply calling people out for publicly threatening the health and wellbeing of an IVF recipient who was on tv sometime in the last decade. if you don't want to be held accountable for the things you say or think, don't make these things known to the public. no matter what you think of kate, she's in the right here.

kate be strong

@ margarita

No one threatened her life. That was Kates words. That picture above is depicting how crazy her fans are.

Honestly, I cannot understand why someone wants to imitate or even be obsessed with her. I can understand that someone does not like her so much. But, someone trying to impersonate her has serious issue(s).

i feel sorry for kate but didnt she use to bully her ex husband jon around?just sayin karma is a bitch

She is beyond ridiculous. Twitter gives her the option to block people. Instead of blocking people who are commenting to her about abusing her kids and dog (as SHE admitted to doing in her journals) she instead encourages others to hack into accounts and reveal personal information/contact employers of people she doesn't like. When the woman tweeted her 72,000 times in one day, she didn't block her, did she? NO! She didn't contact Twitter and complain, did she? NO! Instead she and her 'bullyville' people hacked into personal information, contacted employers, etc. When someone threatened her with physical harm (which is NOT OK) she didn't go to the police or Twitter, didn't block the person, did she? NO! She went to bullyville instead. And in the process she and bullyville have violated MANY innocent people's privacy including their underage children. Way to go, Kate. Way to attempt to stay relevant. She's also unblocking people she had previously blocked with the hopes that they will say things to her again and she can attempt to play 'victim'. What a great role model she is. Guess we know where her 2 children who were expelled from school at the age of 6 learned how to bully people. From dear old mom.

She says LEGAL means to go after so called bullies? People have said many nasty things about me over the years but I don't boo hoo about it or send secret Direct Messages for others to go after them. Kate and her bad behaviors she put herself out there. The anti bullying cause should be for helpless kids terrorized at school and after not a pampering 38yr old living high on a hill in her mansion not having to work 9-5 like the rest of us hard working Moms. Anytime over the years that her biggest fans went after her critics she not once ever discouraged it yet she has always shoved down our throats her Fundamental Christian faith goes to a anti gay church who only cares about what she puts in the offering plate. After all she took enough out of it when the kids were born.

I think this is great for those who threaten with harm or those who stalk. The stalkers need to get a life, and the people that threaten need psychological help. However, for those who just dislike her or, disagree with her... no.

OH, P-L-E-A-S-E!!!!! As far as I'm concerned, this is ULTIMATE PAYBACK...payback in which Kate truly deserves!!!!! Remember, Kate has gotten away with WAY TOO MUCH bullying of her own over the years...bullying her own children, people who used to work for her, actual employers, etc. And, T said it perfectly...Kate is getting a little dose of her own medicine!!!!! Trust me, ya'll...KARMA AT LARGE!!!!!

I dont feel bad for these people!!!! They get behind a screen and suddenly grow some balls! If you have that much free time then go and get a damn job! You threaten people and hurl insults about people you only know about through a show?! Maybe you should of thought about the conseques before you start yapping your mouth and calling foul! Karma is a bitch : )
