Rush Limbaugh Slams Beyonce, "Bow Down" Message

by at .  Updated at . Comments

Keyshia Cole has some unexpected, anti-Beyonce company. Rush Limbaugh is going off on the star and her controversial single "Bow Down / I Been On."

The conservative talk-radio host ripped Jay-Z's wife for what he deemed a "180" in the image department and abandoning her feminist credibility.

"[Destiny's Child] songs were attempts to inspire young women not to take any grief from men. She's done a 180," said Limbaugh of the music superstar.

"Beyonce, now having been married, having been impregnated and giving birth to Blue Ivy," Rush added. "She's got a new song, 'Bow, Down Bitches.'"

"Beyonce is now saying, 'Go ahead and put up with it!'"

"You know why? I'll tell you why. Because she married a rich guy. She's even calling herself Mrs. Carter on the tour… She has shelved Beyonce."

"She now understands it's worth it to bow down."

Limbaugh also cited an editorial in U.K.'s The Telegraph by a woman angered by B's allegedly new direction away from the "Independent Women" champion.

Rush, of course, may not have listened to the song that closely and may be taking her lyrics partially (if not entirely) out of context ... big shocker.

A more likely interpretation of "Bow Down"' is it's a tough message aimed at any upstart singers hoping to challenge her place on the pop throne.

In fact, when the singer does mention Jay-Z, she does so in the following way: "I took some time to live my life, but don't think I'm just his little wife."

Moreover, naming her tour The Mrs. Carter Show was more a playful nod to her role as Hov's other half than a real command for women to be subservient.

Rush isn't the only one to react in such fashion, however. R&B star Keyshia Cole, as we previously reported, also slammed the new track from Knowles.

"First 'Women need to Stick together' now bitches better Bow. Smh. But it's all G! Chicks stay shooting the s--t. But when I speak my mind it's a prob," she wrote.

What do you think? Do you agree with Rush and Keyshia? Or is Beyonce being misinterpreted by people who just want to knock her down a peg?

Why are we involving this and that..I mean seriously..Miss. Cole could care less about women empowerment this is about jealously. .not once dis she ever say anything positive about Beyonce but so quick to point out her flaws. .Beyonce never said that she was perfect..she plays the part because she is a celeb. .so when the camera is rolling ur gonna get a made up image..I'm sure that she eats..sleeps and shits behind closed doors like the rest of you simple minded people..I guarantee is Miss. Cole Career was as half of whats Beyonce's is she would have never said a word..so at the end of the day her fans have spoken..she is still selling out shows and making millions..so im sure she can care less of what rush and cole have to say..Just Bow Down Bitches...

People keep bringing up the Obama's because they have attached themselves to Mr. and Mrs. Carter, during their political campaign and win they were there supporting them and being apart of the politics, so don't exclude them now. I don't understand why the president and his wife would think that befriending Bey and Jay was a good I
Image booster. He raps about degrading women, is in sex books and promotes a life of thugging. Bey give women the image of being real is actually being fake. Making up alter egos to take the blame of being mean. Promoting whorish ways and showing girls that its ok to be a sex object. Now, that her career is fading she has taken on a more aggressive rapper attitude of telling fellow artist to bow down, now down to what having no real talent but giving an elusion, telling girls white is right, losing her natural black beauty for what society view as beautiful, please. Where does this stuff end, when will these followers of these entertainers come to their senses, bey wouldn't take the time to spit on you if she couldn't find a way to make it work in her favor. This is the age of no talent, being whores, it amazes me that these artist has fans, just shows the state of mind these days. Also, there is no need to take personal what people say either way for everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I agree. Black people are so busy with their heads up these celebrity asses and don't even see that they are worshipping idol gods. I bet they know everything there is to know about beyonce and jay z and not a Damn thing about the bible or God. Black people have always been vulnerable to walk around blind and in the dark when the signs are clearly in your face that jay z and beyonce think they are bigger than God. This is who the young children nowadays choose to follow. We are in a sad state right now. Stop drinking the kool-aid and open your eyes people. We are headed to hell first class. Smdh
