Carly Rae Jepsen has taken a stand in favor of gay right.

By canceling a concert appearance organized by the Boy Scouts of America.

The Canadian crooner - who is currently opening for Justin Bieber in London - had been booked to perform at the National Scout Jamboree in Mount Hope, West Virginia in July.

But she announced via Twitter this morning that she was backing out of the gig and made the reason why as clear as can be:

"As an artist who believes in equality for all people, I will not be participating in the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree this summer," Jepsen wrote. "I always have and will continue to support the LGBT community on a global level ... and stay informed on the ever changing landscape in the ongoing battle for gay rights in this country and across the globe."

Train has also canceled its appearance at the show, but has said it will gladly reverse this decision if the Boy Scouts of America reverses its policy on not allowing gays to enlist.

Mark my word, she will regret this. Her "career" has been made by singing a pop song to 12-15 year old fans. And now she has chosen to punish these young men for the decisions made by adults. Her and Train are trying to strong arm the scouts into changing their stand. Sorry. It's not going to work. Timeless values.

Is anyone else getting sick of these wannabes pretending like they care about gay people in order to gain popularity? This woman is just trying to be like Miley Cyrus and other annoying celebrities who are trying to hold on to what fame they have left. Give me a break. The scouts probably couldn't care less.

...and now this IDIOT's music is banned from my radio. She should be proud that the BSA were going to allow her to sing at the national jamboree. Guess what, now she has lost a whole bunch of fans. Lol. That backfired. I hope she never sells another song. Her pitiful attempt to get gays to like her trash music backfired, and she lost the respect of the million + boyscouts and their families and supporters. What a loser!!!
