Anyone acting as though the Founders could not foresee advances in technology, are ignorant of both history, and technology. Multi, and rapid fire weapons did in fact exist in the days of the founders, the Puckle gun, volley guns just to name a couple. Lewis and Clark carried with them on their journey westward, .46 caliber, semi-automatic air rifles. With which they killed many buffalo to eat, and many indians in self defense. These are not what we know of today as airguns, but at least as powerful, and in most cases, more powerful than firearms of the day. Not to mention existing prior to the signing of The Constitution.
