Fifty Shades of Grey Movie Release Date: Summer 2014!

The Fifty Shades of Grey movie is reportedly set for a summer release.

Summer of 2014, but hey, what can you do. Let the anticipation build!

Adam Fogelson, Chairman of Universal Pictures, says the studio has "prioritized" the film and wants to have it in theaters as "early" as summer 2014.

"I understand why some people might take that point of view that the film won't be here soon enough," the movie exec said, explaining the timetable."

"But I don’t believe that EL James had any interest in rushing it into production. I don’t believe that the second or third film would have benefited from that strategy."

Also, he adds, "I think that there are totally legitimate questions about what this book is as a movie. I will tell you that it is an absolute priority for us."

"It’s conceivable it could be ready for release as early as next summer."

Obviously you can only fast track something like this so much. It's part love story, part romantic thriller, part cheesy Twilight fan fiction, part soft-core porn.

Not exactly an open-and-shut page-to-screen adaptation right there.

A quality film, whatever formula execs settle on, will undoubtedly set the Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed movies up to be even better.

So, better to just be patient. As for who should play Christian and Ana, EL James says she has some names in mind, though it's "not who you might expect."

If that means no Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, we are gonna be pissed. Just kidding. Well, mostly. We'd be open to her ideas, but a little pissed.

Will you see the Fifty Shades of Grey movie?

Should it be rated NC-17?

I definately like Alexis Bledel as Ana. Torn on who I would like to see as Christian. Matt Bomer has the face and the body, but do you really want someone who is openly gay playing this type of role? You might as well cast Neil Patrick Harris as Christian.

How does him being openly gay affect his ability as.an amazing actor exactly? I mean there are plenty of "openly heterosexuals" portraying gay characters amazingly well. It's.called acting. Just sayin

Ian somerhalder is perfect for the role. He looks the part and has darkness, love and compassion. If anyone else is cast, I just can't see it working!

Matt Bomer is the best fit for Christian Grey. Just look at him. He has the square jaw, peircing eyes, nice body, straight nose, nice profile, great singing voice, nice body & a classy & professional look for a CEO. He has great range as an actor & can play dark & brooding.

OH MY GOD! I thought the SAME when I saw Matt. I don't know why, but when I was first reading 50Shades, I was thinking of someone looking similar to Matt Bomer, then bam, I go on youtube, search for 50shades, and there he is - the dream guy, He fits the role amazingly, he has all of them details you would see in Christian. Hands down, he's the one we need for 50SOG.

Personally I am a Great Fan of Ian Somerhalder and dont think any one else could do the part better. Im sure many disagree. but from watching him for many years. he makes a great vampire but he can have compassion and love. from reading the book and watching Ian on TV. he just fits the part perfectly to me..

Agree that it should be a no name low ranks. I personally vote for chace crawford

It is hard to select a male since full nutidy is a must for this movie and the book describes Christian Grey. I think go with an unknown that fits the full discription and willing to do whatever it takes. This is a breakthrough part. I never heard of Robert Patterson before his big break or Daniel Radcliff. Make someone own it and make multiple movies for ADULTS that are not prudes.

Who cares.......just what we don't need, more pornographic crap
