Some passengers who fled the disabled Carnival Triumph cruise ship and left Alabama aboard charter buses suffered yet another setback en route home.
One of the buses taking them back to Houston broke down.
Carnival spokesman Vance Gulliksen said that the bus broke down Friday on the way to New Orleans after leaving Mobile, Ala., where the ship docked.
He says another bus was available and those aboard were transferred and continued to the Big Easy where they arrived safely later Friday morning.
The disabled cruise ship carrying some 4,200 people and under tow by tugboats docked late Thursday, after an engine-room fire Sunday left it adrift.
Horror stories began to emerge of unsanitary, unlivable conditions, including rooms made unusable due to smoke and bathrooms overflowing.
Wonder if the Carnival Triumph offered them a nice voucher.
