Barney Creator's Son Charged with Attempted Murder

Patrick Leach, the 27-year-old son of the woman behind Barney & Friends, has been charged with attempted murder.

A representative for the Los Angeles County District Attorney confirmed to TMZ that Leach was arraigned yesterday, following an arrest last month for allegedly shooting a Malibu resident in the chest - and then running from the scene.

Police say they recovered evidence at the scene that connects Leach to the crime, though no motive has been made clear yet. The victim, meanwhile, is expected to recover from his bullet wounds.

Leach, whose mother Sheryl is behind toe annoying purple dinosaur pictured above, is currently free on $1 million bail.
