Josh Brolin went a bit overboard ringing in the new year, as sources confirm to TMZ that the actor was arrested for public intoxication on January 1.

According to officials, Brolin was booked at 3:02 a.m. and released four hours later.

Few other details are available at this time, but the star's rep says an incident took place in which Brolin was hanging out some with buddies and wound up having "too much fun."
