Cissy Houston stopped by The Today Show this morning, partly to promote her new book, "Remembering Whitney: My Story of Love, Loss, and the Night the Music Stopped."
And partly to make all viewers cry.
During an emotional interview with Savannah Guthrie, Cissy remained mostly quiet and stoic, clearly still affected by her family's loss.
"I miss her so much, I can’t even express it," Cissy said of Whitney Houston, who died nearly a year ago.
Cissy also let Bobby Brown off the hook, saying the singer's troubled ex-husband should not bear the blame for her daughter's demise.
“Good mothers and good fathers and good families don’t always have great children. Bad people have good children... It’s all their responsibility when they get to a certain age to choose their way. [Whitney] was taught, she knew the way.”
In closing, Cissy said she gets by each day by looking to a higher power:
“I trust in God, and His ways are not our ways. So we have to go with that, and there’s nothing I can do about that.”
