Britney Spears Quits X Factor, Citing Music Focus

As has been rumored pretty much since the minute Season 2 sputtered to a close, Britney Spears will not be back on The X Factor this year.

However, new intel indicates it's entirely by choice - hers.

Sources say there is no bad blood or in-fighting involved; Britney loves the show but wants to focus on her music, which she's working on right now.

If that's just an excuse to get off this sinking ship, it's a good one.

And true. Brit's in the studio recording her 8th album, with Will.i.am and producer Hit-Boy, the brains behind Kanye and Jay-Z's "N****s in Paris."

"Britney loves Simon, she likes Demi Lovato but her thing is music," says an insider.

After she completes the album, Britney is considering a tour ... where she'll likely make way more than the $15 million X Factor would pay her to sit there awkwardly.

Life is good.

    I thought she was cute on the show and very sweet to the kids she mentored - but the show itself, AWFUL. She's wise to leave it.

    In my opinion....Simon Cowell is a 100% jerk and an asshole....saying he fired Britney Spears only because she is boring.....let Britney be herself....I mean anybody like Simon Cowell who doesn't accept someone like Britney Spears for who she is and only wants Britney or anybody else Simon dislikes to be the person the way Simon wants him/her to be is a 100% asshole....makes me sick to my stomach. Britney Spears did the right thing to leave "The X Factor".....fuck Simon Cowell!!!!

    So another one bites the dust. ewww. At least we all won't have to look at her disgusting ugly faces any longer. My next wish is that the ever annoying Demi Lovato leaves or get's fired. L.A. Reid is gone too. Anyhow this show is such a big frigin joke anyway.....
