Arnold Loves Maria: Schwarzenegger "Hopes to Reconcile" With Shriver

In an interview in Germany's top-selling newspaper, Arnold Schwarzenegger says he still loves Maria Shriver and hopes to reconcile with his estranged wife.

Maybe he should've thought of that before ... you know.

Schwarzenegger is quoted in today's Bild newspaper as saying that despite their separation, he spent Christmas with Shriver and their children.

"We're not fighting any war," he says of his wife of 25 years, who left him after his love child scandal. "I still hope for reconciliation; I still love Maria."

Schwarzenegger's admission he fathered a child with the family's housekeeper, Mildred Patricia Baena, stunned the gossip and political worlds.

He has also admitted to other affairs, and recently came out with a memoir, Total Recall, that served as a mea culpa ... but also dredged them back up.

If Arnold loves Maria as he says he does, he should probably spend less time dwelling on his past affairs and more time trying to prove his sincerity.

You know, with actions. Just an idea.

Should she take him back?

    No way should she take him back! Once a philanderer...always a philanderer. And he admitted to more than one affair. People reap the consequences of their actions...and well they should...or they will never learn to make better choices. He brought this on himself and now he should just live with it.

    So, so ... Arnie talked to Germany's top-selling newspaper, the Bildzeitung. Take everything you read w/ a grain of salt. The Bildzeitung is another tabloid paper that caters to those who believe everything they read. Now I've got to go to that website & see the nonsense they've written. That said, I think Arnold should get real. He blew it!

    Um, no. He has done way too much damage to take him back....all the cheating, all the lying...then doing a stupid book that totally humiliated her and the kids? She's too smart to take this moron back. She can do WAY better.
