Fat Girls Receipt Insults Chilly D's Restaurant Patrons

by at . Comments

The bill given to three friends at Chilly D's Restaurant really stung, but not because of the price, which is actually pretty affordable for dinner for three in this era.

It was the description of their table at the top.

"I got the bill, I looked [and] I was like, 'Why does this receipt say 'fat girls?'" customer Christine Duran said, recalling her Stockton, Calif., experience.

Fat Girls Receipt

The friends had dined out at Chilly D's, part of the Cameo Casino Restaurant, on Thursday.

The bill lists charges for three tri-tips with fries and three sodas, for $25.50. A bartender named Jeff had apparently typed in "Fat Girls" to keep track of their bill.

When a stunned Duran asked a manager for an explanation of the receipt, he "had like a smirk on his face, like it was funny but trying not to laugh," she said.

The dining experience went from bad to worse when the restaurant demanded they still pay the bill, offering them a 25 percent discount and then a 50 percent discount.

They declined both offers.

In a Facebook message, Maggie Lewis, the Cameo Club Casino owner, apologized and said the treatment Duran had received is "intolerable in our establishment."

Jimmy Siemers, co-owner of Chilly D's, didn't work the night Duran and her friends received the offensive receipt, but has said that he is trying to clean up the mess.

"I just want to tell them we're sincerely sorry and we'll do everything in our power to make sure this never happens to anyone again," he said in a statement.

Truth hurts. BUT Why get mad? Did they think people didn't say anything? My a ss is bigger than I'd like but I'm not in denial and if someone tells me I have a fast A ss, I agree! Do something about it or don't let people's stupid words hurt you. TRUTH HURTS if you let it.

Haha fat bitches. Go on a diet

Really?? That should've been a wake up call for them to lose weight. Also be embarrassed that they were so fat that the bartender felt the need tolabel them as such!

Has this story been completely verified? Something's fishy - First, no tax on the bill? I'm sure California has a tax at restaurants. Sodas are $1.00 and the entire bill for a party of three comes to $25.50? How could a restaurant stay in business at those prices? It also says # of guests is 1 not 3. Just think this may be a hoax.

@ Eddie

Unknown some states don't charge tax for food. Do your research before making dumb assumptions. Also look at the menu for the place and own a restaurant before making your second equally stupid assumption. Idiot.

@ really?

Took all of two seconds to prove you wrong. And I'm right. Not really a surprise to anyone. California charges sales tax on prepared foods in restaurants. What a moron.

They were at a casino. Federal law states"I"ndian retailers selling meals, food or beverages at eating and drinking establishments are not required to collect use tax on the sale of meals, food or beverages that are sold for consumption on an Indian reservation."
