I think it is ridiculous that they feel the need to blame Leann... The only reason Carly Rose did that song was to appeal to country fans and try and take some of Tate's which was the mistake. Their voices did not go together well I think separately they both did okay but together it was atrocious. I think it is crap that her family and most of "Carly's Angels" feel the need to blame her loss on this ONE SONG! She did how many songs this season? But because one did not go right it was the established artist's fault? That is why they were not sure whether or not to lower the age limit to 13... Lose and they throw a hissy fit! I just think it is ridiculous. Tate and Carly battled for first all season and he won the one that counted grow up and get over it because that ONE SONG did NOT make a difference.
The win was extremely close, its not that she cant beat country music, they were both good. But I have to say Leeann rimes did mess up. She sounded like she was on something. she sang horrible and messed carlys flow. Carly has never messed up until the finale with Leeann. But I know she will do big things. Just cause you don't win doesn't mean anything look at Jennifer Hudson won an Oscar. Some people win an become a one hit wanderer!! just saying!!
I figure the old SOUR GRAPES is going on here. Carly's Mom & Dad didn't get the 5 million to control! The Country Music fanbase is hard to beat!
The truth is country has gotten horrible vanilla and Tate fits the role perfectly. The country fan base likes mediocre crap as long as it's called country and has a twang. All of the current male country singers are interchangeable. Nothing special at all and Tate has joined their ranks.
It wasn't LeAnn's Fault. The show set it up for the older Tate to win. It is all about the money. They can make money faster with an adult. Carly has years of School left, and they have to deal with Child lobor laws. Every pre voting poll i have seen had Carly beating Tate 60% to 25%, Her Youtube hits are 10 times as many, millions of hits to his couple hundred thousand Hits. These show will never let a young teen win. Can you say Jackie Evancho !!!!!!
I agree that it's all about the money, along with professional sports, movies, sit coms and everything else on TV,it is after all ,a market place,no differrent than Walmart,Sears, etc. If the music industry along with any other enterprise dosen't make sure it stays profitable then they go down and we all lose.I keep all this in mind when I use these shows for entertanement.I do however firmly believe that Tate was far more talented than the rest of the contestants and I'm not a country western fan(maybe now I am).I think he was a very gracious winner. Not sure it does a 13 year old any good to have her family do the blame game instead of helping her be a gracious runner-up.
OK,if it is LeAnn Rimes's fault that more people voted for Tate than Carly Rose, who due we blame for the other times that Tate was in first place?
I think Carly really deserved to win. She got on stage, despite the fact that she was younger than nearly all of the contestants and sung her heart out. She had real talent and she used it to the best of her ability. Tate's "family man" sob story is the same sob story undiscovered country stars all over America could use. "I want to make a better life for my family." So do millions of other struggling families. "All I have is my talent." So do billions of other people. I don't like bashing people but when I fee strongly about something feel the need to voice my opinion.
I don't know Tate, but if fame and fortune come out of his career so does the destruction of his family he apparently "wanted to make a better life" for. Think logically on it. What happens to male singers? People follow him around, possibly every tour, and women throw themselves at them. Unless you have the control of a monk, you won't be able to resist the temptation. When their wife finds out they are obviously devastated but they decide to suffer in silence until they explode and their happy life crumbles before their eyes. The male singer then proceeds to write a song about it which becomes a hit, which completely brands karma (what goes around comes around) as useless. Their family suffers while they make millions. That doesn't seem fair, does it?
This may seem stupid to whoever is on the "Tate's completely original and would never do that to his family" supporters, but to the people who actually agree with me and see Tate as another version of every country star that's already out, thank you. And to you Tate supporters, try to find a hole in my logic. I DARE YOU to make me believe that Tate deserved to win more than everyone else. I DARE YOU to convince me that his sob story is original and that no other country singer has the exact same one. I DARE YOU to make me believe that Tate is the greatest country star in the world and there is no way his family is not doomed to fail once his career takes off. The truth is, I don't hate Tate. He's a decent man. I just don't think he has the X Factor. He lacked that originality, that depth, and that special something that made you want to stand by his side no matter if people thought he was terrible, no matter if his music eventually became unoriginal and boring, and no matter what scandals people surrounded him with. Convince me he's great, and I'll take back everything I said about him.
What's with your constant daring people to express a different opinion to yours? It doesn't take daring to do it - it's everyone's right to have their own opinion and that's got nothing to do with you. As for your opinion - you're clearly a Carly Rose Sonenclare fan but not everyone else is. I'm not, despite the fact that she does have a good voice, and MY opinion is that Tate was the deserving winner, regardless of his circumstances. However, the fact that he's approaching 40 and seems to be a modest, down to earth, ordinary guy makes his winning all the nicer, and more deserving. Carly Rose on the other hand seems spoiled, sulky (when she got less than glowing comments about her performances), precocious and very full of herself.
...and Cat that's exactly why I hate when people like Tate win. Did you really write that his modest, down to earth, ordinary guy (that applies to his voice too) made him more deserving? THAT IS COMPLETE CRAP AND WHY THESE SHOWS ARE A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. America doesn't vote for most talented they vote for the best story. Just like Dada said. EXACTLY LIKE DADA SAID. And you just went and and completely validated what Dada said. WOW, just WOW. America has such bland and misguided taste.
Don't most girls who approach thirteen seem sulky and spoiled? I'm only expressing my opinion. Besides, I don't see her to be that way. Just like I don't see Tate to be the way you see him. I trully do wish his family the best, but celebrity life is celebrity life. I'm thinking logically, not being a hater (though that comes off that way). Besides, we all know big celebrities usually don't win these kinds of shows. Talented people do. Melonie Amaro just came out with her first single, and it's been a year since she's won this show! I'm sure Tate's career is going to take off and he's going to do quite well in the industry. Sorry if you hate my opinion, but it's mine and I'm sticking to it.
WOW,Sure hope Tate and his family's future isn't anything like your projection, anyway there are train wrecks in every field and type of music, and those are the ones that make the news. There are more that keep it together but we don't here much about them.As for all the ''I DARE YOU'S'',Its really none of my business what you believe or convinced of.I firmly believe that Tate and his Family will be one of those good stories.I plan to keep them in my daily prayers, and support them in that way. Also looking forward to a Tate Stevens cd.
Peace and Merry Christmass to all.
It's fine. Opinions are opinions and who am I to go against freedom of speech? I would, however, like to identify that I said male singers and not country artist. Male singers usually have groupies that follow the around and temptation usually wins when they are on the road for months and aren't around their families or loving wives and start feeling lonely. I really do wish Tate and his family the best, but I'm only thinking logically. Hate my opinion or not, it's mine and I'm sticking to it. I hope you do the same with yours.
What actually happened was Simon changed the rules at the last second to allow three people in the finale so his group had a chance at winning. Last year it was two, and every other singing show has always been two. This made it so you had an older guy on one side and six teenage girls on the other. Fifth Harmony diluted Carly's vote just enough for Tate to win. I guess Simon thinks it's ok to change the rules right at the end cause he is the boss, but it is still cheating.
I agree with you 100%. The diluted vote cost Carly the win. If Carly & Tate went head to head for the win, it wouldn't even been close.....
Wishfull thinking,not based on fact.
Sorry Phil, it wouldn't have been close. Most 5th Harmony fans would NOT have voted for Tate. They absolutely split the vote.
tate stevens sux!!!! Carly rose was the best singer on that show Hands down
Carly Rose was clearly the best performer. Tate Stevens is an average country western singer. Even though country music is very popular, Carly would have won if the vote was between Tate adn Carly without Fifth Harmony in the vote. It is obvious that the X Factor put Carly down for her age and sex. The X Factor is business and Tate will sell more than Carly. The X Factor idea came second to the market and making money.
Oh please! From what I remember, Tate was the one who never offered anything new and creative in singing songs as the weeks went on (boring!). Carly, even though was singing ballads (given to her by X Factor producers mind you; they chose the songs), did the best she could and put her own creative spin on and versioning of each song. (Plus, "Feeling Good" and that Bieber song were more uptempo.) That shows me she was innovative and creative and spicing it up, while Tate was just a clone karaoke copier of same ole (his voice was decent OK but he was flat and off key often and no judge mentioned a thing about it; Carly on the other hand was tone exact). As for stage presence, Carly moved around and looked at the audience as much as Tate, and stood still at other times for variety presence, and she thanked the audience after every performance unlike any other act (this in itself is good stage presence and audience interaction at its best as opposed to the typical touching hands of fans in the audience that Tate did for himself not them). Also, on another note, Tate was less than ethical to get the win by constantly drilling into us his bitter sob stories over and over (I'd be thankful to have the job he did), saying he deserved the prize more than anyone else (who is he to say?), and trashing Carly's semi-final performance backstage afterward thus throwing her under the bus. That hardly sounds like an "angel and good guy" warranting a win. It was selfish of him the way he manipulated to win and hardly of good moral. What a creep. Boo!
