Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge are the winners of The Amazing Race 21!

In Sunday's two-hour season finale, a trio of teams - Lexi and Try, James and Jaymes, Josh and Brent - ventured from Europe to New York's UN headquarters.

Amazing Race Winners

Once there, the duos paired up the words for "hello" and "goodbye" from the nine nations they visited throughout their travels. Josh and Brent came away victorious.

“We never, ever thought we would hear you say those words to us,” Brent admitted just after Phil Keoghan announced them as winners of the Race's 21st season.

His co-winner Josh concluded:

“We were underdogs, and what I hope this proves to people - whether they’re a minority or they’re out of work or they’re losing their house or whatever - if they just keep going and keep working as hard as they can, people will help, and at some point you will win.”

Words to live by right there.

Congrats, Josh and Brent!

Josh’s speech that you quoted there was really inspirational because of all of the hardship they suffered in the race, and in their personal lives as gay men. I am so happy and proud of those boys, and I wish them the best of luck in their life on the farm. I was talking to a coworker at DISH about the results, and she said that she started crying when Josh and Brent were told that they were the winners. I nearly missed the show because of my book club, but thankfully my DISH Hopper recorded it with Primetime Anytime. I love how it records everything during primetime on the four major networks and saves it for a week, so I never miss any of my shows. I am horrified to think that I almost missed it because it was the best reality TV I have ever watched!
