Trace Adkins Defends, Explains Confederate Flag Symbol
by Hilton Hater at .Under a bit of fire for dinning a Confederate Flag earpiece during a nationally televised Christmas special this week, country star Trace Adkins has issued a statement.
Entertaining troops as part of a Japan-based USO tour, Adkins posted the following on his website yesterday:
"As a proud American I object to oppression of any kind. To me, the battle flag represents remembrance of my Southern lineage – I am a descendant of Confederate soldiers who followed that flag into battle.
"To those who view the flag as a symbol of racism, that was not my message and I did not intend offense."
Seems pretty reasonable and simple, no? What do you think of Adkins wearing that earpiece?

As a southerner myself, let me say - the Confederate flag is the symbol of a nation that DIED at Appomattox Court House. Only fools continue its legacy - intelligent people understood that and moved on long ago.
Everyone has the right to freedom of expression even though they may be dead wrong and incredibly fucking RETARDED!
I do not like the south they are still at war. I was in Florida and a girl said to another look at that yankee. I guess my teeth were not brown.
Blacks are the one that is still fighting the civil war. Somehow one generation has passed down the mirage of retribution. They wait from one generation to another. If Florida is so bad then what is your Yankee ass doing there? You like so so many see one flaw and your biased/racist ass passes judgement. Somehow you think that if you are not a part of the south then your standing is in higher regards with mainstream America or maybe your omitted from being a bigot? You are wrong! You Yankees voted for Obama and here you are weeks later in Staten Island without power! FEMA? It should be called--Forgotten Emergency Movement Association! How many southerners do you see up north? Few! Don't ever beleive that just because you side with this liberal movement that goes to bat for gays, blacks etc. don't for a minute think they will embrace you. They see you as weak/ that's why your rubbing elbows with them.
We aren't all like that anymore than all Yankees are the same.

Now that we have a affirmative action pres. In office, oh for those Obama supporters who don't know what affirmative action is, an inept person being employed at a job he or she is not capable of handling, hired for no other reason but, in this case, being black. Racism was going away, now, do to a president being elected through racism, it's coming back with a vengeance. I will never hire another black person. I'm from South Carolina originally, and I will proudly display my Confederate flag.
