Nicki Minaj Slams Steven Tyler, "Racist" Comment

by at . Comments

Her feud with one American Idol judge on pause, Nicki Minaj has moved on to a former American Idol judge.

In an interview over the weekend with MTV News, Steven Tyler was asked for his take on the American Idol Season 12 judging panel - and he held little back in his response.

After first mocking the Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey mess, Tyler said of the former:

"If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield. Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying."

The opinion didn't sit well with Minaj.

"Steven Tyler said I would have sent Bob Dylan to a cornfield???" she wrote on Twitter. "Steven, you haven't seen me judge one single solitary contestant yet! You assume that I wouldn't have liked Bob Dylan??? Why? Black? Rapper? What? Go f--- yourself and worry about yourself babe.

"I understand you really wanted to keep your job, but take that up with the producers. I haven't done anything to you. That's a racist comment."

In the end, the rapper came to her own conclusion over why Tyler would say such a thing:

"When Steven first went on Idol he was ridiculed by his peers and fans alike. Called a sell out So what does he do? Ridicule the next judge."

Why do we feel like we have not heard the last of this beef?

On whose side do you fall in it?

Im black and by no way were those racial remarks. Nikki is by far the most over hyped musician in a long not much of a aerosmith or mariah fan but im smart enough to see nikki shouldnt be mentioned in the same breath as those too......i cant wait to watch her behind the scenes rise and fall...does that make me a shitty person lol

@ cmist

Even hard core Dylan fans will tell you that he is not cut from the regular rock, pop cloth. He's different in about as many ways as he can be and one of those ways he comes across as a hayseed. And I love Dylan, but there it is.

How is that racist? I think Minaj is racist for exploiting the word itself.

Shes such a skank. Only thing racist being said here is Id love to pound her fat black butt. Yeeeeeah!

Nicki please get off that Idol crap show, you probably should have never blasted off to Carey in the first place, she is a better Singer. Cornfields, I don't recall black people and cornfields together and I'm 39 and am from the south maybe cottonfields but I didn't do those either so you should have called Tyler out on that. Weak album sells at Walmart;Walmart edits their CDs so people don't buy music from Wally World. Please go back to the studio do what you do best leave politics and music artists that have Been around longer than you've been alive alone

@ Bennie Allen

Read "It's a Good Life" - short story, little boy with magical powers, when he didn't like something, or someone, he would "wish them into the cornfield". Absolutely nothing to do with race.

I'M black and Trini, it's embarrassing to listen to Niki's continuing immature , disrespectful, uneducated, puerile rants . She should grow up, and, for Christ's sake, ... read a damn book.

Is she really so desperate for attention? Sometimes just keeping quiet can do so much for a career. This is the very first year I just cannot/will not stomach American Idol. It has deteriorated into a sad version of itself. Time for something new. This is a dead horse.

I am black and it is an embarrassment that this ignorant dye-head would even attempt to represent our race.

@ topix

I am black as well and totally ashamed of her portrayal of us. She might as well be in black face.
