Nicki Minaj Slams Steven Tyler, "Racist" Comment

by at . Comments

Her feud with one American Idol judge on pause, Nicki Minaj has moved on to a former American Idol judge.

In an interview over the weekend with MTV News, Steven Tyler was asked for his take on the American Idol Season 12 judging panel - and he held little back in his response.

After first mocking the Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey mess, Tyler said of the former:

"If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield. Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying."

The opinion didn't sit well with Minaj.

"Steven Tyler said I would have sent Bob Dylan to a cornfield???" she wrote on Twitter. "Steven, you haven't seen me judge one single solitary contestant yet! You assume that I wouldn't have liked Bob Dylan??? Why? Black? Rapper? What? Go f--- yourself and worry about yourself babe.

"I understand you really wanted to keep your job, but take that up with the producers. I haven't done anything to you. That's a racist comment."

In the end, the rapper came to her own conclusion over why Tyler would say such a thing:

"When Steven first went on Idol he was ridiculed by his peers and fans alike. Called a sell out So what does he do? Ridicule the next judge."

Why do we feel like we have not heard the last of this beef?

On whose side do you fall in it?

How did this turn into a political coversation? First off as a black person I do not like to here things like blacks call out racsism every chance they get because until you have been black you cant say anything to me. Especially because I grew up in south where some white people will call you a derogatory name if you are black to your face, so until you have walked a mile in a black persons shoes you have no room to talk

Not a Black thing--or a White thang--be a woman and shush. Do your thing. And you might google how a woman is supposed to act. It's scary that this generation one has to be naked and frucking the wall to get top attention! : (( Sing it, be yourself and move on... Peace... Happy Holidays

@ Living Out Loud

thats sexist u bastard. y would u say that maybe men should "shush". cuz its boys like u that piss me off.

Nicki Minaj is a reprehensible, foul-mouthed pig, and the worst part is that the American public has rewarded her with fame and fortune. How low has our culture sunk!

Nicki your music is bad and you should feel bad

Nice cornfield reference from the fabulous short story It's a Good Life, later made into a fabulous Twilight Zone episode, my respect for Steven Tyler just shot way up. Oh, and not a thing racist about what he said.

The blacks yell, RACISM, every chance they get. They are racists. Racism got that moron, Obama, reelected. I guess when an inferior race, with exceptions, have someone get into a powerful position based on lies, they can jump around like they ALL are important.

@ allsaints45

Take a chill pill, bigot.. Obama is the human. Mitler would have sucked our souls out, financially, physically, mentally and every other way. The best man won! That's why he won! You didn't see Mitler come on tv, in the middle of the devastating "Sandy," and tell the world that you're on you're own if a disaster happens--the state will take care of you.. That's not a man, nor a
Christian.. Shrink have strong pills to "take the edge off." I do suggest it!! Peace

@ Living Out Loud

The best man had the election stolen and that would be Mitt. Have you not read about the investigations that are beginning over the stolen election? You have it backwards, hundreds of companies closing and laying off thousands since your idol stole the election.Tyler is right you blacks pick anybody black over a white because you are racist instead of picking the best one for the job.

@ Nancy

While Steven Tyler's may not have been... You might want to take a second look at your own, because they obviously are. I understand political disagreement but backing it with bigotry kind of takes away any credibility you may have had. Obama won the election fair and square. Sorry to tell you (and Thank God for America) it with the younger generation is turning more liberal. Now try not bringing your bigoted and sour grapes to a completely unrelated story.

Come on why always drag out the race card. Tyler not that deep. He was trying to be funny and actually was for once.

Minaj does not represent me as a black woman. My family is from trinidad and no one in my family acts like her, and while they are poor people, while she is rich, they do not pull the race card eveytime something doesnt go their way. I can not wait for her to fall, she is no-talent airhead who clearly has lost her way. People shouldnt take her seriously she wont be around too long, with her behavior the way it is, her fall will be hard, and swift

Jeanne lynne

Seems to me that Nikki is a little sensitive? Sorry she took Steven's statement the way she did. I didn't see it as racist. What I got from his statement was that the encouragement and mentoring the judges do is something that will be very new for Minaj.

@ Jeanne Lynne

It wasn't racist but it DEFINITELY can't be mistaking for encouragement. That was obviously an insult.

@ uh... idk about that.

how can anybody think that the assumption that she would not like bob dylan without seeing her judge anyone is in any way not racist?
