Larry Birkhead Defends Dannielynn Modeling Gig

by at . Comments

To many, the idea of any six-year old posing for a professional modeling campaign is appalling.

But when that six-year old is the offspring of a troubled late ex-model? Who was pushed so quickly into fame and success that she lost her way to drugs and eventually her life?

Yeah. It's not hard to see why criticism of Larry Birkhead is prevalant today, after the terrible father allowed daughter Dannielynn to pose for Guess.

"Dannielynn has always looked up to her mom's image," Birkhead explained today on Good Morning America. "I think this is kind of Dannielynn's way of paying tribute to her mom in her own special way."

Right. Sure. Dannielynn was absolutely the one to contact Guess and arrange a deal.

Anna Nicole Smith, who died in 2007 from a drug overdose, rose to fame in the early 1990s by starring in her own Guess campaign.

"To see her mom's picture next to hers as a Guess girl and say, 'Hey, I was a Guess Kids girl, my mommy was a Guess girl,' that might be her only connection with her mom," said Birkhead.

Considering the tragedy that actually was a majority of Smith's life, let's all pray that is true.

What do you think of Dannielynn modeling for Guess?

Larry Birkhead Continues Rampant Exploitation of Daughter, Death of Anna Nicole Smith

Larry Birkhead is back in the news! It's been awhile, after all, since he exploited his daughter in front of a national TV audience.

Larry Birkhead: Still Exploiting Death of Anna Nicole Smith, Cuteness of Daughter

Larry Birkhead hasn't milked the death of Anna Nicole Smith in ages. But, don't worry, he's doing so in a new magazine article.

What about all the "average" kids who model for Guess kids? Is anyone saying how bad that is? Then shut all that down too. This doesn't seem all that big of a deal. She never had a mom and this is what her mom did. Just let her do her thing if she really wants to. As long as she enjoys it and the people around her keep her grounded and make sure she doesn't go down a bad path, then leave it be. And for the record, Anna Nicole didn't die until she started those diet pills combined with other prescriptions that her people told her was ok. She probably would be alive otherwise. She didn't have a family and real friends in her life as a support that may have helped her. She didn't grow up in spotlight and left all those people behind when she became famous. Her daughter was born famous. People may go out of their way to make sure she does differently because of her circumstances. So her her daughter is already different than her mother. The only thing I could see you being upset about is the nepotism, which I can understand because other children may get less of a chance. But then you should say that, because otherwise what's your point? What does it matter to you what other people do if it doesn't hurt you or something that you know?

Oh for heaven's sake... what about Drew Barrymore, Brooke Shields, Shirley Temple, Natalie Wood, Danielle Radcliff, Demi Novato, Britteny Spears...Should talented children not be allowed to follow their dreams because it might offend people who have nothing else to complain about?

Dannielynn is just a profitable commodity for Birkhead because he has no job since April 2007. Is it normal that a child financially supports healthy dad who doesn't want to work? He will exploit Anna's tragedy and her daughter because he is shameless opportunist.

@ cat

Cat, you have a real problem. It is not your concern, it is not your child. The little girl has fun. If child who does not like to do something , especially in public, no one could make her do it.
Get of the joulousy horse please.

@ Karin

I think with 49million...I wouldn't pay someone else to enjoy my daughter's childhood..I'd be a hands on Dad too. If her mom hadn't OD'd, she would've never allowed him in her life. And if it was a single mom rather than a single Father, she could do no wrong. Why the double standard?

@ Joey

That was to Cat...not you Karin, you're a reasonable person;-)

What's wrong with Dannielynn modeling for kids Guess? I think it's a compliment to Anna Nicole's legacy!

Yeah, the guy's an idiot & desperately needy for attention but that doesn't make him a terrible father.
