Kim Kardashian Klarifies Israel-Palestine Tweets, Apologizes

by at . Comments

Kim Kardashian took to Twitter today, stepping into the most contentious rivalry on the planet by posting messages about Israel and Palestine.

Because everyone has been waiting for her to weigh in, right?

Perhaps Kim Kardashian should stick to posing for bikini photos on Twitter.

"Praying for everyone in Israel," Kardashian wrote of the violent ongoing conflict, later adding:

"Praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world!"

As you might expect, the reality star received major flak for stepping into this world, eventually issuing the following statement in response to major outrage across the Internet:

"I want to own up to and explain that earlier today I sent out two tweets about saying prayers for the people in Palestine and Israel and after hearing from my followers, I decided to take down the tweets because I realized that some people were offended and hurt by what I said, and for that I apologize.

"I should have pointed out my intentions behind these tweets when I posted them. The fact is that regardless of religion and political beliefs, there are countless innocent people involved who didnt choose this, and I pray for all of them and also for a resolution. I also pray for all the other people around the world who are caught in similar crossfires."

What do you think, readers? Should Kim have apologized? Should she learn the shut the heck up? Or is this more symbolic of the overall social media culture where everyone feels a need to chime on absolutely everything?

Ummmm, what!!??? Since when does someone get crucified for speaking their mind in this country? Good grief. And for that person's only crime to be that she has spent time in prayer for the hurt and the innocent!! She spent time thinking about someone other than herself and dared to say so!! I applaud you for that Kim but am disappointed that you would apologize. What did you have to apologize for? Millions of people post stupid, self obsorbed ignorant rants without thought our concern for anyone's feelings and they don't apologize so why should you apologize for caring or praying? I guarantee you that there are hundreds of thousands of terrified people in Israel who are eternally grateful for your concern and your prayers.

Because she's an uneducated retard and a waste of oxygen.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with anyone who wishes well for people. Shame shame bullies who pressured her to take down her messages of good faith.

I think it's funny when Pakistani people attack the smallest of nations ( Bully) they get hurt double in folds. God said you will not wipe his nation away...he will turn it back on you:))))) love my fellow Jews

Not a K fan, but I don't see anything wrong with praying for others. Had I done so, I wouldn't have retracted it for anyone.

I'm guessing she didn't get OBAMAS email- you see this is a pro atheist and anti Christian America nation at this point! Blame the Jews but dont blame the MUSLUMS!

@ Christian

Yes don't blame the Muslims. Blame the people who are responsible for those crimes instead of blaming Muslims in general.I am a 17 year old Muslim. AND in no way do the terrorists do people the Taliban or hamas represent me as a Muslim nor do their represent my religion. From what I have read and learnt Islam is about peace. And in no way do these terrorists represent that. I have been praying for the innocent people of both Israel and Palestine. When the 9/11 hit I prayed for those families that lost their loved ones. I have never ever disrespected any one else's beliefs. Because at the end of the day you believe in your religion as much as I believe in mine. Bottom line is that innocent lives are being lost everyday and we should be all praying for each and everyone of them.

Well said

My point is this- Christians are being blamed for everything. Racism etc. MUSLUMS are not being blamed or labed homophobe but Christians are. This is about the blame game and the mindset in much of American is - if we can get the religion out of our lives then all will be well. America hates its history in some people's eyes. Therefore America in return hates itself. Disarray has followed.

@ Christians

Who is blaming Christians for anything? Muslims should not be blamed for anything nor should Christians be blamed for anything. Those who COMMIT the crimes should be blamed; Those INDIVIDUALS should be the ones taking the responsibility for their actions. I do not judge people based on their religion. In Islam it’s clearly stated that we as Muslims should respect the other religions. Islam condemns each and every form of disrespect. And I don’t believe that Americans are racist nor do I believe that Christians are racist. But are there individuals in the US that are racist? Yes. There are racist individuals in every country. But do these racist individuals represent the people of that particular country and their beliefs in general? NO. Same goes for religions. There are extremists and fanatics in every religion. But do they represent the values or morals that the religion stands for? NO. It is simple; my beliefs are my beliefs, your beliefs are your beliefs. Learn to respect those differences. And we have to stop the blame game. A lot of the times the case is such that, we are so busy pointing fingers at each other, that we no longer put our efforts towards finding out about the truth or the reality of things.
