Clearly the 41% who thought Obama won were locked in their basement with pictures of Obama and Kleenex

Jesus, is that election not finished yet? You yanks take WAY too long to get it done. What a waste of money - you'd swear nobody had telly's in the US or something.

Here in Ireland an election is set, and about two months later its finished. Same goes for everywhere in Europe, the French are the longest but they still best you guys by a mile...

Get on with it already!

@ Conor

You have to remember we don't have a Parliament like Europe and GB do. Our election process has only gotten longer and more drawn out in the last 50 years due to the primary process and the resulting sound bites.
The media play a big part in this since it's in their interest to spread it out so they can make more money. The bad thing is the candidate I really wanted was run out by innuendos and fallacies.
What they did four years ago was to go rabid over a candidate that had no experience and no business even being in the race.

Interesting stuff John, cheers mate.

YOU ARE SOOO RIGHT. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. NO MATTER WHO GETS VOTED IN, NOTHING CHANGES.

Obama is such a BS'er! A lot of talk and no action. What a liar! It's about time our citizens finally are starting to "get it." Talk, talk, talk...bs, bs, bs! You'd think he was a new candidate as he carried on about ALL he plans to do. FOUR YEARS and he's now got all these great plans....hat an A-hole! Then you have nice, IDIOT Biden! What a total dummy. These 2 morons are sinking our country and there's idiots that idolize him! Scary to think that so many people are so easily lured into Obama's BS! When another country owns us and our freedoms are gone, then these morons that support these 2 bozos might finally "get it!"

I have a remark to a comment. So, you don't like the candidates? Fine, I hope you vote for the better one. No complaints if you don't have a voice.

Hiya Cindy,

As an outside looking in, it was plain as day that Obama couldn't possibly fix the US economy in four years. It cannot be fixed in 8 years. Unfortunately the US debt mountain is massive and must be dealt with. It will be, eventually, but to expect the economy to recovery from the destruction that was wrought by the republicans is quite simply sticking your head in your ears and going la la la la.

I don't care who wins the election as I'm not American. No matter who wins, the economy will not be fixed in the next four years. I really hope I am wrong by the way, as I'd like nothing more than a strong US economy once more.

Love from Ireland. XXX

Molly, insted of being a total bitch about it, calling the president an idiot, how old are you? 10? Get a life, if Mitt Romney is your guy .. vote for him, but you don't have to call the competition " school yard bully "

Avatar

Here's why Romney appeared to have "won":

1) He was loud
2) He interrupted constantly
3) He was rude
4) He had to have the last word, just like the typical schoolyard bully
5) Everybody expected him to fail epically, but the fact that he didn't fail as badly as everybody expected is the reason he appears to have "won".

Plus, Obama was a class-act (though he should have brought up the 47%! I don't know why he didn't!).

Avatar
@ Molly

There was nothing rude about Mitt Romney. Obama was rambling and saying nothing and Romney just wanted to correct the inaccuracies. In fact, I thought both were very gentlemanly and respectful and it was a good debate.

I am moderate in my political views, never siding with either party until I hear the candidate out. During the debate the body language of the candidates actually had the opposite affect on me. I saw Romney having passion and optimism in his plans to fix America, while Obama's body language showed someone lacking confidence in what he was saying. But putting attitudes aside, what they were actually saying is more important. Personally, I was blown away at Romneys ideas on taxation, the economy, medicare and school systems. Again, I don't have a biased point of view, but the words of the candidate is what I focus on....not the candidates party affiliation or whether he was loud during a debate.

@ Molly

He didn't bring it up the 47% because it's irrelevant and just a talking point. No one who is intellectually honest really believes that Romney doesn't care about the 47%. He was making a comment about how 47% of the people will vote for Obama no matter what, and that some those people in fact DO feel a certain sense of entitlement. Whether it's something you like to hear or not, nothing Romney said was shocking or untrue.

Avatar
@ Molly

he didn't mention the 47% because its true and he knows it I work hard and barely make ends meet it hurts to see 24% of my hard earned money taken from me to pay for some brood of kid's because there baby's daddy wont. It pisses me off that the government can just take the money that i worked for and i need to pay my rent and give it to people to lazy or to proud to work so they can buy beer and there rent. Romney won hands down and showed over and over that the Muslim sleeper agent in the white house is completely out of touch.

@ Molly

Romney did appear to be especially rude. Unfortunate considering the appearance of many Americans by others who look to us as representative of stellar behavior.

Avatar

This pole is rigged like all everything controlled by the media. I tried to vote for the CLEAR winner.. Romney & it said it wouldn't accept my vote that I have already voted.. Totally untrue..

Avatar
@ Elizabeth

told me the same thing...that i have already voted...and no i did not...Romney was the clear winner in that debate...Obama looked down most of the time with a smirk on his face...with no defense...he has done nothing good for this country... i can't wait till they debate foreign affairs...

Avatar

Romney debated w/ conviction, facts & authority, while Obama was on the defensive the whole night. He seemed flustered, confused & frankly unprepared. Sounds like his last 4 years, which is why we are worse off now than then. His comments near the end were almost as if he'd already lost the election. At the end he almost pleaded to let him try another 4 years! Well the fat lady has warmed up & singing and it's not am Obama victory song ....

Avatar

Romney was a democrat in Mass. he kissed all the democrats asses in that state and thats why everything worked out so well,,,THINK ABOUT IT he was only a Republican in name Romney Care = Obama Care

Avatar

Romney made BIG mistake tonight. He effectively ran away from record he has been running on - which leaves him very vulnerable in remaining debates to appear to have been major flip-flopper - This is something democrats will use and really benefit from! Media wanted a fight but President Obama knew exactly what he was doing and what he was getting Romney to admit to and run from.

mitt romney looks like Kermit the frog here, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Obama looks like Curious George.

That is an insult to Kermit the Frog.

Finally Obama is exposed for what he is. A pop culture, Hollywood dear, with no substance. He had four years to do something. At what point will he stop blaming the past? Year 8?
