The homosexual uncle of the Thompson family has recorded a PSA in which he opens up about life as a gay man in the south ("People don't like it," he says) and details all he's gone through:

"Growing up as a kid, I was bullied day in and day out ... broke ribs, dislocated jaw, cars vandalized..."

Despite these hardships, though, Poodle has a message of hope for others in a similar situation.

"It is okay to be who you are, he says. "Don't let anybody change that."

Amen, Poodle.
