I don't know if it was bullying but it certainly was ignorant. Half the country is overweight, so what...that doesn't make them less of a person than anyone of "normal" weight. Just because she reports the news does not make her responsible in any way as an example to young people or anyone else for that matter! Further, I don't believe this ever would have been said to a man! Good for her to stand up to that ignorance!

You say so what that half the people are over weight? People like here are the reason we can no longer buy a soft drink larger than 16 oz, people like here is the reason restaurants will soon be restricted on portion sizes. People like here is just one reason why health care cost are going threw the roof. If she knows she is fat - than DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! or you "choose" to remain fat - own up to it and call the kettle black. The guy sending the email isn't the bully, You however responding openly in public (hoping for that "recognition") is being the bully. Hay - if I can get this into the public eye, maybe people will send me money like they did that Bus monitor that was bullied. (now SHE was bullied) you weren't.

Kudos to her for using this as a teachable moment. "Obesity is one of the worst choices a person can make" ...really??!!! What about all those booze guzzling, dope smoking, fornicating degenerates out there who happen to have a socially acceptable BMI? Thin people have cost tax payers far more than obese. To name a few: Barak Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Ried and George Bush... Political correctness has turned some Americans into superficial, mean spirited individuals. It pits rich against poor, non-smokers against smokers, thin against fat, non- Christians against Christians. There are many fine people in this country of all shapes, colors, and walks of life. Someone once said America is great because America is good. And when America ceases to be good she will cease to be great. Have we reached that time in America. Does anyone teach their children the golden rule anymore. Just because we have a right to say something, doesn't make it right to say!

That was not a bullying email. She is fat. It is not okay to be fat. Get up and work out. And don't act like the fact that you have 3 children and a job keeps you from eating healthy and working out. Bet she can find 3 hours a week to watch tv. EVERY ONE can find 30 minutes a few times a week to work out. And stuffing a cheeseburger in your mouth instead of something healthy is a CHOICE. She is not a good role model...get over yourself...you're fat!

There is nothing bullying about that email. I thought it was said in a very polite way. If you have a thyroid problem then you can get medication. I am 30 to 40lbs overweight so I joined weight watchers. She is a bad role model if she's been like that long term! I can't believe this woman took this as bullying. Come on. I guess the TRUTH HURTS!

How do you know she doesn't have a thyroid problem? How do you know she wasn't 50-100 pounds heavier a year or two ago? Your saying she isn't a good role model simply because she's a few pounds overweight, so by your logic celebrities that starve themselves are far better role models? Maybe she donates thousands of dollars to charities, or visits the sick. Passing judgement you have never met or know nothing about isn't exactly something a good role model does.

@How do you know?

A "few pounds" over weight, a "FEW" pounds? Seriously? 20 to 40 is a few, 100 to 250 is A LOT!

She didn't mention a medical condition which I would think would be pretty up there on my list if I was going to go on a tirade against someone that accused me of being fat. She chose to put herself in the public eye and she is going to get criticism over her weight. I run 25-35 miles a week because if I don't I will be fat and I never put myself out there to be a role model. Being fat 99.9% of the time is a choice. Yes, I pass judgement because you can't complain about someone calling you fat if you don't do anything about it. Again, she didn't defend why she is fat, so my guess is because she doesn't try at all.

She did publicly say she has a thyroid problem she also does work out every day. I am guessing if she didn't she would be even heavier, but the real issue is that you guys are judging her solely on her weight when you know next to nothing of her situation, and neither does the individual that sent her the email.

The person who sent the email did not do it in public but his email was posted on Facebook later. I think his email was very polite - it needed to be said.

Right, and them posting it publicly, to me is worse, making her the bully, not to mention knowing full well it would bring national attention for a little sum'in sum'in. Maybe she is hoping Elen D. will pay for her lypo.

One other point. It's interesting that this bully had nothing to say about current events or anything pertinent to the show or the news, but took the time to show his true nature.
