Nick Peterson Screwing Over Rachel Trueheart on Bachelor Pad: Right or Wrong?

by at . Comments

Nick Peterson absolutely stunned fans and co-stars alike with his decision to keep all the money for himself on the Bachelor Pad season finale last night.

Leaving Rachel Trueheart both brokenhearted and broke, Nick's controversial move proved that not everything in the Bachelor universe is totally contrived.

It's impossible not to feel bad for Rachel, who was already reeling, having developed real feelings for co-star Michael Stagliano that were not reciprocated.

At least she would win $125,000 at the end of her Bachelor Pad ordeal, though ... or so she thought. The often-overlooked Nick Peterson had other ideas.

With his decidedly undiplomatic attitude after the fact, Nick probably didn't handle the situation as well as he could have Monday night. But this is still a game.

On merit, Peterson pulled off one of the all-time reality TV coups, outlasting a partner (and cast in general) that didn't think he "deserved" to be there.

Nobody in Rachel’s alliance gave a $h!t about Nick Peterson, who they considered a pawn, and who and planned on voting off as soon as they needed to.

This is fact. However lucky he was to float through the game as long as he did - and to gain a legit shot when Michael was booted - he seized the chance.

So there he was last night, with the option of splitting the cash with a partner who never liked him, or to roll the dice and go for broke. $250,000 or $0.

He went for it, and won it. Rachel was stunned; their fellow cast members even more so. Sure, it was brutal, but the option is in play because it's a game.

Chris Bukowski probably would've done it, too, had he not burned so many bridges. It's a competition first and a dating show second. People forget this.

On the flip side, though, didn't Nick feel slightly bad? He'd have made a cute girl happy as opposed to miserable, and $125,000 is still a lot. Selfish? Mean?

What do you think? Do you fault Nick? Tell us in the poll below.

Nick Peterson's Bachelor Pad cash grab ...

Hurray for Nick. He deserved ALL the money. I'm so glad he didn't share with Rachel. She's just a conniving B.....! Plus she got what she deserved with Michael. I loved watching the show.

Truly the most disgusting ASS in all of reality TV. Nick the dick would have not even seen the light of day had it not been for Michaels ouster by Erica. I agree, Karma is a bitch, baby!

Nickis a fuck schmuck. Rachel said it right. He is douche bag. Karma is a bitch and he will get whats coming to him.I hope he loose all d money

With Rachel's hair, face, body, and enormous amount of free prime-time national television exposure if she cannot turn all that into much more than $125K before taxes then shame on her.

Rachel came together for the last competition and did an amazing performace as a rock star thereby helping them win and get the option of whom to choose as the final two partners. No I didn't like her whinny attitude before that but that competition won the game for them. I did not like Nicks bragging at the end when he kept the money after the agreement. I do not think this man could be trusted in daily life. What goes around...

Anyone really feel sorry for Rachel? With looks like hers the rest of her life should be just fine, with or without this money.

I would have to agree with the comment here by "doug." The film footage at the end of the final broadcast is legal proof that a verbal contract was made between Nick and Rachel, and I'd wager that Nick would be made to honor that contract were it brought before a court of law.

I think Nick is an a##, It just goes to show his real colors. My question is, If it was the other way around and Rachel did this? how would he feel. It's no wonder no one wanted to partner up with him, he gives a bad vibe! What goes around comes around Nick, enjoy the greed with Rachel's half!

Nick proved what type of human being is really is. To all the single girls out there pay attention and make sure you don't get hooked up with a guy like this. Nicks a self serving selfish man... He may think $250,000.00 is alot of money in reality it's not hope it was worth it to him and i hope all of his friends and family turn on him.... He's a Dirt Bag......

How many times did we have to listen to Rachel say "the money is not important" and " this is a stupid game" . Way to go Nick!
