Robin Roberts Exits Good Morning America, Replacements Confirmed
by Hilton Hater at .Robin Roberts announced today that she is leaving Good Morning America one day earlier than scheduled, not due to her impending bone marrow transplant, but as a result of Hurricane Isaac.
She is flying home to Mississippi to be with her ailing 88-year-old mother, Lucimarian, along with her family, which is in the eye of the storm.
"I know the journey ahead will not be easy," said Roberts, who is dealing with a blood disorder known as Myelodysplastic Syndrome. "Just know that I'm going to come back here as soon as I can."
In Roberts' temporary absence, Good Morning America will welcome a number of high-profile guest anchors. Among them, it's been confirmed: Oprah Winfrey, Chrid Rock, Katie Couric, Barbara Walters, Kelly Ripa and the Modern Family cast.
"This means so much [that] these friends are stepping up like this," Roberts said. "I love them for that!"
