Lady Gaga SLAMS PETA, Rejects Pressure From "Violent, Abusive, Childish" Group

by at . Comments

Earlier this week, PETA slammed Lady Gaga, labeling the star a "turncoat" and demanding to know if some of the furs she's recently worn are real.

Rather than succumb to pressure, Mother Monster hit back!

In response to PETA and fan backlash, Gaga fired off a statement on her website basically saying she has a right to do (and wear) what she wants.

Some have accused the manicure and handjob lover of being a hypocrite, not to mention petulant, in her response to PETA, but she's standing her ground.

In a well-formulated, refreshingly honest response, Gaga defends herself and calls out the organization for bullying (and flour-bombing Kim Kardashian).

"I want you to know that I care deeply about your feelings and views, and I will always support your philosophies about life," the 26-year-old writes.

"We've been having long and over-arching conversations about society, equality, and politics for the past five years, and we should continue."

However, "I do not however support violent, abusive, and childish campaigns for ANY CAUSE. Particularly one that I respect. 'Animal Rights.'"

"I am choosing not to comment on whether or not the furs I purchase are faux or real because I would think it hypercritical not to acknowledge the python, ostrich, cow hide, leather, lamb, alligator, 'kermit' and not to mention meat, that I have already worn."

"This should already put me in a category as one who appreciates and adores the beauty of animals in fashion, but am not a strict vegan."

"I have truly always stayed away from skinned fur, especially i have never been able to afford a nice one, but this does not mean my morals are rigid and that I won't bend at the sight of an absolute art piece of a coat."

"You see a carcass, I see a museum pièce de résistance. I am truly sorry to fans who are upset by this, its a fair and applaudable feeling about the health and safety of animals. I respect your views, please respect mine."

"And to campaigners, Save your flour to make bread for the children who are hungry. And Kim Kardashian is fabulous."

Wow, a celebrity who says what they think and doesn't fear the public relations backlash? Whatever you think of her views, it's hard not to respect that.

On the flip side, if she blatantly said, as PETA claims, that she hates fur and doesn't wear fur, how can she not expect to hear from them about this?

PETA parasites, stop putting animal rights before human rights. Cows, to feed humans. Horses, to bet on. Bear, deer, rabbits, and any other animals, besides cats & dogs, to hunt, for food and sport. Animal fur to wear, for warmth. Monkeys, mice to help find cures, for human ailments. Get over it. If I decide to wear fur, and any of your pests, threw flower, or paint on me, I would sent them to the emergency room. I was able to run over a Possum, the other night, on purpose, Thinking of PETA.

Boooo Lady Gaga. Yet another case where her priorities are totally wrong. Animals have as much right as she does to be alive. I bet they'd love to wear her skin.

Lady gaga you suck, shame on you for wearing fur. Go PETA

Lagy gaga sucks for wearing fur,go PET for standing up for animals

Applause for GA GA for standing her ground. I've always admired her and now I admire and respect her all the more. and besides, even though I don't necessarily agree with wearing fur, I agree even less with the bully tactics that that homemade terrorist group that PETA is known for.As far as I'm concerned with them, they can go to hell. As for GA GA, well its like my mother always use to say, Every woman has the right to change her own mind for better or worse. Thank you!

I'll be nice to see PETA members freeze to death during the third ice age, while the rest of us are staying warm and snug in our fur coats, and eating tasty meat for protein. ^^! Screw PETA!!!

With fame you are in powerful influential position. It would be nice if people like gaga used this place of power to encourage us to live with respect for the earth and all its inhabitants. Why do we have to posess what we find beautiful, appeciate the beauty of animals and allow them to live. It is an indulgent and selfish attiude to say its beautiful, its a piece de resistance and i dont care if it died for me. UGLY. VAIN. STUPID.

Instead of PETA going after Hollywood they should focus on everyday people who abuse animals.Just recently here on Long Island,NY someone threw a puppy out of a moving car on to a busy road, the poor thing has broken ribs, legs, vertebrae.Go after these animals that do harm these poor defenseless creatures. And leave Hollywood alone!

And kim kardashian is fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!1

PETA is just annoyingly radical. If they wanted to help then they would be supporting animal rescues or trying to change the meat production industry not demanding that a celeb admit they are wearing furs. Seriously PETA do something useful.
