Kelly Ripa Co-Host to Be Announced September 4

Kelly Ripa's permanent co-host will finally be announced September 4, nearly a year after mainstay Regis Philbin retired. Who do you think it will be?

Ripa began hosting Live! with rotating co-hosts on November 2. Since then, a whopping 59 men and women have co-hosted in the absence of Regis.

One of them will be named permanent co-host on Tuesday, September 4.

Ripa will start the season the day before by hosting solo for the first - and only - time. Her new co-host will be unveiled on the show morning after.

Kelly and whomever it is will welcome Homeland actress Claire Danes and American Idol winner Phillip Phillips to the program for the big day.

Seth Meyers, Michael Strahan, Josh Groban and Kelly's own husband Mark Consuelos are reportedly on the short list of potential candidates.
