@Enlighten, you wrote "whether you can admit it or not is that you are all capable of the same thing Holmes did and have more than likely also murdered innocent people in past lifetimes. Get over your egos" Please for yourself. Maybe there's something you're hiding but I've never murdered anyone nor have I wanted to. Just like you don't believe anyones else theory on heaven and hell, Your theory about recycled souls sounds just about as right as ham and cheese sandwich with no ham or cheese. So maybe you're capable of doing such a dirty act but not me. I know right from wrong, I am compassionate,I believe though shall not commit murder. Clearly you're drinking the same juice James was. Don’t speak for me, my friends or my family members.

This man (boy, whatever) should be forced to think about what he did every second of the rest of his life. Execution is too good for him. It scares me to think he could get off that easily the number of people killed is too big and the scope was terrifying. It scares me that a Neuroscience grad student did this... He should be finding a cure for MS!!! What a waste of a mind. ....And was green NOT on sale?

OFF WITH HIS HEAD!! I don't want to contribute a fraction of a cent on any meal for that dirt bag! For once save us tax payers some money. Geeze.

He'll pay for the horrific murders, blood is on his hands and justice will be served.

So this horrible evil guy commits the most evil act - Murder - and now the majority of people want to join him and commit Murder themselves. "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind". I think a nice clean death setting this a**hole free (death is death people forget the silly notion of heaven and hell) is totally unfair to the victoms and society as a whole. This guy should be sent to a war camp where he is tortured everyday for the rest of his life, day after day after day. He should have to live with what he did and pay for it for the rest of his life.

I'd like to see this freaky pig burned at the stake for the horrible and premeditated murders and injuries he caused while he knew exactly what he was doing. Insane…, I don’t think so – try EVIL.

This guy had this set up for a while before it happened, his apartment was very elaborated set up with many booby traps. I don't believe he has a mental illness because he is obviously very intelligent and this was well planned, being a psychopath does not count as ill. If he was someone else's pawn, which is quite possible, he could have been hypnotized brainwashed or whatever but if that is the case we will not find justice because he's by himself now. Either way, he carried this out and his life is fucked now there is no easy out for him nor should there be.

It's so sad to see how much ignorance about mental illness exists! I hope this incident opens more eyes to the need for education about mental illness and the need to help those struggling with it. Do you really believe this man's goal in life was to shoot a bunch of people in a theater? Does it take years of college to do that? He was delusion or having a psychotic break. He needs to live out the rest of his life in a mental institution where he can't harm anyone else but he didn't choose the life of mental illness.

HE'S FAKING HIS MENTAL ILLNESS!!!

I would like to hear what involvement the psychiatrist had in all of this. Did she miss the opportunity to stop the horrible act? Did she see him as a possible person to do further research on not recognizing the outcome? Did she give him the appropriate medication? I think there is more to the story that we haven't heard yet. He must have realized that there was a problem with himself or he wouldn't have seeked medical attention.
