People will find any little thing to bring down something so positive. Like commentor below said, we are very superficial as a society and need to realize that it doesn't matter what somebody looks like, its what they do that makes them who they are. To bring any kind of criticism to this young girl who just overcame all odds and fulfilled her dreams is just ridiculous and rude. I wonder what the person who brought up this topic looks like!?!? The person who brought this up should be paraded in front of the media so we can critique every little thing about that person... I can guarantee that person is FAR from perfect!
Shows how shallow we are as a society.. and why is it that everytime a black person is seen in a national spotlight they are representing all African-Americans? She is representing HERSELF and nobody else. If she wants to where her hair like that she can. This is not a beauty contest. It's gymnastics. People always seem to loose focus of what's truly important.
Is it really so important to comment about her hair? We're watching the Olympic games not a fashion show, I've seen another athlete, if I'm not mistaken in judo, which her hair was all over the place, at least Gabby's hair was kept tidy throughout her performances, and with a performance like she gave, you really won't even notice what color her hair was let alone the style!
