Seems like this is more about 'money, money, money'. The Hobbit, a children's book had grown into 3 movies whilst Peter Jackson was able to make the 3 books that make up TLOR into 3 movies. Hope this trend doesn't continue in Hollywood. We've already had the last book of Twilight and Hunger Games split into 2 movies, now one book is being split into 3.
