After a week and a day of waiting, the second part of the America's Got Talent quarterfinals arrived with a bit of a whimper. There were only five strong acts overall, while a majority were clearly not prepared for the big stage.

But let's give them all a grade anyway, shall we?

LionDanceMe - There was an awkward fall in the practice but the group performed a clean act. The routine still looked like a lot of the same. I'm not discrediting that jumping on small posts takes talent and accuracy; there should be more.
Grade: B-

Turf - I would have been more impressed if the producers had the endless camera as he was performing during the whole routine instead of just during one section. The moves continued to be great, the only problem was when he casually walked from the side of the stage to the center. I agree with Sharon that there needs to step up, I'm not sure if that means better dancers or better pants.
Grade: B+

Are Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb back together ... and engaged?

The actress received an early birthday present on Tuesday when she got engaged to her longtime businessman boyfriend, according to E! News.

Loeb popped the question in Mexico, where Vergara is in the midst of a week-long celebration of her 40th birthday with family and friends.

However, People Espanol tells something of a different story.

One source says that there was a ring given to Sofia, but other sources say the actress "does not consider herself engaged."

An unnamed Mexico-based rep for the star also told People Espanol that "As of today, Sofia Vergara is not engaged."

So consider yourself as confused by this story as Jay is by her accent in some of those always-hilarious Modern Family quotes.

In any case, she and Nick broke up in May, but reconciled in June. Says a source, "There are compromises to work out on both sides."

Like the fact that Nick Loeb ... well just read the link earlier in this sentence. Possible congratulations to the couple and keep us posted!

Two weeks after The Real Housewives of Orange County season finale, the women are sitting down on Andy Cohen's couches in Part One of the Season 7 reunion.

Will Alexis get an apology for being called phony? (Probably not.) Will Vicki have to defend Brooks? (Probably.) And how many times will she say "love tank"? (One time too many.)

Alexis says the reason she mispronounced Katie Couric's last name is because she has an accent. You know, like the British. Minus 4.

Here it goes, Alexis and the infamous Fox 5 news reporter scandal. She says that Jim's douche-maneuver in virtually everything regarding Alexis and what she wants, is just because he has a strong personality. Heather calls her out on it and says it's like he's her Daddy. Then she slams Tamra saying "she's still married."

Shortest. Pregnancy. Ever.

Okay, maybe not for Adele herself, but for the public. Unlike Jessica Simpson's very public gestation period, which was marked by Twitpics, nude Elle covers and absurd quotes for months on end, we just found out Adele was with child.

So when is she due? Like really soon!

Simon Konecki got Adele pregnant 6-7 months before anyone knew! UK reports say she's due in mid-September, or around two months from now.

Neither the 24-year-old nor her boyfriend has commented on the report or the pregnancy at all beyond their initial announcement last month.

However, UK celebrity gossip sources claimed this morning that Adele will be hearing the pitter-patter of tiny feet by the middle of September.

"Adele has barely left the house in recent months, so she could keep this to herself for as long as possible," a so-called insider said of the star.

How the alleged insider knows what's going on in Adele's womb, we have no idea, but congratulations on the pregnancy again in any case!

The Hunger Games is going the way to The Twilight Saga and Harry Potter.

Lionsgate announced today that it would split Mockingjay, the final installment in Suzanne Collins' penned trilogy into two movies, the better to maximize profits of course.

The studio even came out with the extended titles and release dates for the films:

• The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 will bow worldwide November 21, 2014.
• The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 will come out on November 20, 2015.

Catching Fire, meanwhile, hits theaters on November 22, 2013.

In a world in which a Jordanian MP pulls a gun and people threaten Brad Pitt's mom for her perfectly reasonable beliefs, life can be discouraging.

Time for a momentary respite and some much-needed smiles.

Rob Gronkowski set the record for touchdowns by a tight end last season.

But the New England Patriots star is thinking about spiking a different kind of balls on the cover of ESPN the Magazine's Body Issue. That's right, he's naked!

Gronkowski, who once said he would bang Tim Tebow, is one of many athletes who bare very nearly all within the pages of the publication. Others include: Brad Richards, Tyson Chandler and all members of the U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team.

If you thought the floor of the U.S. Congress was a dysfunctional war zone, this may restore your faith in our government somewhat: Mohammed Shawabka, a member of Jordan's parliament, recently threw a shoe and pulled a gun in a LIVE TV debate.

Shawabka heaved his shoe and then pointed his piece at Mansour Seif-Eddine Murad, an activist-turned-politician, during a TV debate about the violence in Syria.

Reports say heated words were exchanged, with Murad eventually accusing Shawabka of being an Israeli Mossad agent and a thief. That was the last straw.

Shawabka threw his shoe at Murad, who dodged with aplomb, and then pulled a gun. Furniture started flying and the terrified host tried to separate them.

And... end credits!

The AP reports that Shawabka is being investigated for his role in the altercation, which fortunately ended with no one injured or killed. Shocking.

The terms of TomKat's divorce settlement will remain confidential, but Katie Holmes got "exactly what she wanted" from Tom Cruise, according to reports.

Holmes, who initially filed for sole custody, will receive primary legal custody of their daughter, Suri Cruise, 6, with generous visitation rights for her dad.

"She won and she is happy. Very happy," a source close to Katie said of the star, who blindsided Tom last month. "She can move on and finally live her life."

The decision to divorce Tom Cruise after nearly six years of marriage wasn't easy, but Holmes "did this only for her daughter ... that's all she cared about."

The actress, who secretly began renting her own NYC apartment two weeks before filing for divorce, "pulled it off brilliantly," according to the source.

"She has her career back and her daughter. She will be a huge star now ... This was all played so well. Katie is very happy with how it all came out."

Um, congratulations? She still got divorced. Sometimes breakups can be for the best and all, but that assessment just sounds so calculated and cold.

Of course, if she really feared Scientology taking over her daughter's life, Katie may have felt she had no choice but to approach it in this manner.

We will likely never know, but credit must be given to both sides for settling this in record time, and amicably, regardless of what caused the rift.

Khloe Kardashian is an aunt for the second time, as Kourtney Kardashian gave birth to a girl on Sunday.

Just how psyched is the reality star to be gaining a new relative? Her life is in danger, folks. Seriously. She said so herself.

"I'm an auntie again!!!!!!!!!! As I'm sure you all know, my beautiful big sister gave birth yesterday to the most perfect baby girl you've EVER seen —- Penelope Scotland Disick!" Khloe blogged yesterday. "The entire family is literally exploding with joy and have not stopped fawning over our new little girl."

That's literally a scary proposition. Someone has to literally explain to Khloe how the English language works.

Elsewhere, Kim Kardashian also expressed excitement over the arrival of little Penelope, who we're likely to see on a magazine cover any day now.

"Welcome to the world, Penelope Scotland Disick! Kourtney gave birth to a beautiful baby daughter on Sunday and the whole family is so thrilled to finally meet her!" Kim blogged on Monday.
