Mother of Colorado Shooting Victim to Sue Movie Theater

by at .

Another lawsuit is preparing to be filed in response to the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado last Friday morning.

Shirley Wygal, whose 32-year old daughter Rebecca Wingo was among the dozen victims of James Holmes' attack, has reportedly hired an attorney and will soon file suit against the Century 16 Theater, citing a lack of security.

Shooting Victims

According to TMZ insiders, Shirley alleges that the theater's emergency doors - through which an armed Holmes burst through - should have been equipped with alarms and/or guards should have been placed alongside these exits.

A movie goer who survived the massacre has also filed a lawsuit, naming three defendants: Warner Bros., Holmes' doctors and this same theater.

The corporate owner of the theater, Cinemark, has offered to pay all funeral expenses for the victims, a gesture that actually started with Rebecca Wingo. But Wygal turned down the offer and said the event was already covered by another organization.

Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves! HOW DARE YOU make comments about this poor mother that has to bury her child. I personally do not think its the movie theater's fault either, however this poor mother is in PAIN! She has lost her daughter of 32 years FOREVER! Who knows what any of us would do if we were in the same situation. So Lets NOT JUDGE!

I'm sorry you lost your loved ones, or were hurt in the attack, but I hope you lose your petty law suits. How is the theater, or Warner Brothers, responsible for a lunatic on the loose? You might as well sue our worthless President, for the high unemployment that forced the well educated lunatic, to be unemployed, or sue the university, for flunking him.

This person makes me sick!!! I can't believe that every time something horrible happens SOMEONE feels like they need to make a buck out of it. This shooter is obviously crazy and what does that have to do with the theater? The moron is saying because there wasn't enough security and since when are there security guards at the movie theaters? (Besides the ones keeping teenagers from sneaking into rated R movies) I wouldn't be surprised if this suing idiot is one of the people who complain about the security checks at the airport being too long and yet wants to institute security checks at the movie theater. We can't live in bubble wrap for the rest of our lives, we need to accept that accidents happen and no matter how much we try to prevent them they will find their way into our lives. I am sorry for the loss of a loved one, it is quite terrible, but there isn't anyone else to blame besides the guy that actually did the horrible act.
