陿€æ•°æ® means the historical data, while 动æ€æ›´æ–° means the reneltcy updated data, compared to SSTable and Memtable of Bigtable system. 动æ€æ›´æ–° should also replicated to several machines, but since it will always be small, maybe several GBs, it can be loaded into memory totally. If we divide them into two parts, and merge them periodically, the system could be designed much more simpler. Image, we can do all kinds of operations over historical data easily, such as tablet split & merge, tablet migration, just because the historical data won't be modified. And 动æ€æ›´æ–° is so small that we don't need another complicated distributed system to deal with, for example, Google use GFS to save Bigtable's commit log, Yahoo use Yahoo Message Broker to save PNUTS's commit log, they are 动æ€æ›´æ–° exactly.
