I LOVE Anne! Why on earth are they getting rid of her? She is great, and I won't watch if she goes. Why replace her?
I agree with the other comments about Anne - she is one of the reasons I watch the Today Show. I do think Matt is the problem - some of the worst interviews ever have been done by him and I generally cringe when he's doing an important interview. But I predicted Anne's ouster when Matt took Savannah along for his "where in the world is Matt" piece this year. I don't recall him ever taking another host with him and Savannah fawned all over Matt on camera while they traveled the world together for what appeared to be thrown together pieces of little value. Matt wanted Savannah. I believe that's what this is all about.
Ann Curry is an awesome - classy, bright, professional with heart. Although Savannah Guthrie is okay, I'd say that it is Matt Lauer that is the ratings problem. He appears only mildly interested in his interviews.
I think Anne Curry is a very professional, up-beat, intelligent co-host and NBC should look at Matt Lauer as the problem. He keeps loosing co-hosts and his interviews have lacked grit for some time. I believe they should let Matt go and keep Anne! I also think NBC needs to realize that Savannah Guthrie is a naive, legal correspondent who doesn't have the intelligence or life experience to co-host a morning show. She knows nothing about anything except maybe law. So she's good on legal issues and cases, but she knows NOTHING about anything else they report on. How is that going to make a good co-host. Savannah needs to go!
