Joe Jonas Excited, Hopeful Over Demi Lovato as X Factor Judge

Joe Jonas believes in his ex-girlfriend.

Asked by Ryan Seacrest on the radio this month how Demi Lovato will fare as a judge on The X Factor, the singer had nothing but unqualified praise for his former squeeze.

"I think she's gonna be great," Jonas said. "I'm so happy for her."

The young star's troubled past is well-documented of course - in April, Lovato opened up about her dangerous drug use - but Jonas said he's simply thrilled that Demi is on the right path after all this time.

"She's such in a good place right now and I know that she's gonna be able to really influence a lot of people out there, not only people who've gone through tough times. It's a great thing for her and I'm really excited."

Joe, meanwhile, will next be seen - alongside Gloria Estefan, John Rich, and Nelly-  as a panelists on The Next, a new reality series on the CW that debuts this August.
