Amber Portwood Sentenced to Five YEARS in Prison
by Free Britney at .Amber Portwood has been sentenced to five years in prison after throwing in the towel on rehab and asking an Indiana judge to reimpose her sentence.
Guess he took her request to heart.
Portwood had been on probation following a December drug arrest, but was jailed for contempt of court this spring after failing to show up for a drug test.
Portwood was in court when the judge reimposed the sentence of five years in prison. Her attorney asked for leniency, but the judge was unmoved.
Not that he had a choice, he said. Due to her relapse, he said he had no choice but to enforce the terms of her plea agreement from this winter.
Portwood's five-year prison sentence was previously stayed on the condition she complete a drug rehabilitation program. That did not happen.
The Teen Mom train wreck lied about a medical condition to get out of drug testing, then gave up on rehab and asked to go to prison instead.
The judge said he would refer Amber to the Indiana Department of Corrections therapeutic community program - incarceration-based rehab.
Amber Portwood will be given credit for time served in jail, which is considerable, but nothing approaching five years. See you in 2016 or 2017 girl?

Sometimes in order for someone to really change somthing like this needs to happen. I feel for amber regardless of what anyone thinks. Gary isn't exactl an angel, he did provoke her a lot and did not try to help her at all. This is the best thing for her and will make a better person and a mom. Stay strong amber

anybody that says that she did nothing harmful to her child is a moron! She neglects her, abuses her and shows no compassion toward her! ( which is, yet again ABUSE!) Maybe you think it is okay to treat a helpless child like that. You are effin stupd! If you think thats okay you are the worst parent. If you want to get "technical", she in one episode, blames Gary for getting her pregnant and said that she hated him for it. She is selfish. She is immature. Nobody is perfect, but when you have kids you better do everything to protect, shelter, take care of and LOVE them! She wasnt ready and didnt want to be ready. regardless if it was for herself or for Leah, she made the right decision for Leah. She will not have to deal with this from her mother and Gary is an awesome parent and she can work on herself. It doesnt matter why she did it. she just did it and now the family can start to heal.
Will jail really help her she will probably have more access there than anywhere. Who wiil care for her children And we now have to feed house and give free medical care to her. If people want to take drugs that's their choice If u want to destroy yourself go ahead we need fewer people on planet earth anyways.
