Teen Mom Cast: Raking It In From MTV

The Teen Mom cast has MTV over a barrel.

They're not one-percenters, but Jenelle Evans, Catelynn Lowell, Kailyn Lowry, Leah Messer & Co. are bringing in big dollars to simply do ... whatever it is they do.

In Jenelle's case, that would be smoke weed, start fights and get engaged to Gary Head, all while not even taking care of her own kid. Nice gig if you can get it.

On the high side, “Jenelle gets paid $75,000 a season and her mom gets paid $65,000: she calls her an overpaid babysitter,” a source says of the unemployed star.

“She also gets a lot of gift cards to places like The Olive Garden."

WOW. Talk about job perks and fringe benefits. Crazy jealous.

Catelynn, a source says, has made plenty of dough as well.

“Catelynn Lowell and (baby daddy) Tyler Baltierra have enough money to buy both of their mom's cars," a source says, "and Tyler paid for his sister to get a boob job."

As for Leah Messer, who recently married Jeremy Calvert, a source says she "believes she could make $100,000 just from her wedding,” and "makes the most of all the girls in Teen Mom 2 because she held out the longest on her contract.”

As for some of the earlier Teen Mom stars, Maci Bookout, who was in school at the time of the show, "was able to buy a house with her profits,” the source said.

One sticking point among the cast?

“The teen dads make a lot of money … the Teen Moms think it’s ridiculous because they don’t have to film nearly as much or do as much work,” the insider said.

Or parent, in most cases.

    This show makes no since. I know their trying to make teens know it's hard to be a teen mom. But what their showing is nothing how it really is. I'm 20 and I had my first child at 19. Me and her daddy had no help from none of our family and we still held up. These moms no nothing on how it really is . They get paid alot to play pretent. Half of them dont even take care of their own child. They act like they have no money and witch we all no its a lie. There aint no way they have a house,new cars,great cloths with no job. This show is bull. 16 and pregnat aint doing anything but giving little girls ideas that if they have a kid they can get on tv. And i really dont understand why catelynn and tyler is even on teen mom. You dont have your kid!!! And has anybody notice that bently looks alot like kyle?? Just sayin

    THIS SHOW IS JUST SAD. THESE GIRLS ARE JUST ROLE PLAYING. THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO BE A MOTHER. AND MTV WANTS TO SHOW THE REAL STORY THATS ALL BS SINCE MOST OF THESE GIRLS FAMILY R IN OK LIVING SITUATIONS. I WAS PREGO AT 15 WAS A TEEN MOM AT 16 AND STRUGGLE ON MY OWN WITH OUT MY BBY DADDY'S HELP OR PARENTS. I WAS KICKED OUT MY HOUSE AND I STILL MANAGE TO GET THINGS DONE. I FINISH HS WITH MY HS DIPLOMA AND GOT MY GED AS WELL, GOT A CERTIFICATE IN OFFICE ADMI AND ELECTRONICS AND IM WORKING ON MY BA ON BUSINESS, WILL WORKING SINCE I WAS 15YRS OLD. IM 20 NOW AND MY BBY GIRL IS GOING TO BE 4 AND STARTING PRE-SKOO'. I MEAN THESE GIRLS HONESTLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS TO BE A TEEN MOM AND STRUGGLE. THIS SHOW IS JUST SAD AND DISAPPOINTING AND AT THIS RATE I DONT THINK IMA BE WATCHING MTV AGAIN. ****SASSY---> I TOTALY AGREE WITH YOU AND CONGRATS ON YOUR EDUCATION AND MAKING YOUR KIDS PROUD.

    The show started to tell teens the hardships of teen pregnancy. Now they are buying houses and driving new cars. Dr. drew or"dr. entertaiment". You sir turned into a money whore

    All they show is ungrateful fame whores. Any self respecting WOMAN would never hit their spouse, in front of their child, then have their therapy sessions filmed. Or take off to Florida and treat their family like the effin black plague. I don't care what kind of circumstances who have or had with ur family!! Everyone in the world has issues with their family, and just issues in general!!! The most self respecting people don't air it out on tv just for a fat paycheck. What has our society come to? It's truly sad. And shame on MTV for not having more creativity or insight. This is the best they can do? Teen Mom, Jersey Shore?? Is that the role models we want running the country in 10 years?

    this is really sad. MTV has completly lost what thay were about. Thay used to be about the music, now thay are mor intrested in minors who can't keep their legs closed, and i maybe wrong on this, so don't quote me on it, but it seems like the teen pregnency has gone up since thay started doing this stupid show. If you ask me, we need someone to buy out viacom, cause thats who owns mtv and say enough of this knocked up crap, lets bring the music back. MTV still stands for music television, not matirnity television
