Should Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder Star in 50 Shades of Grey?

by at . Comments

Nina Dobrev hasn't read Fifty Shades of Grey yet, but with her name floating around as a possible fit for the female lead, she might want to get on it!

"All I've heard is that it's very scandalous, to say the least," the Vampire Diaries starlet told MTV. "I haven't read it, but I'm intrigued ... who knows?"

"I mean, well, I guess we'll have to see."

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder

With co-star and real-life boyfriend Ian Somerhalder expressing interest in the role of Christian Grey, it's no surprise Dobrev has been linked to Anastasia Steele.

Working with Ian a second time isn't as appealing to Nina as you night think, though. She said if she did play Anastasia, she'd prefer another guy.

"I don't know if that's a good idea," she said of herself and Somerhalder both starring in the movie adaptation of EL James' erotic love story trilogy.

"I think it's best for any of the actors on The Vampire Diaries to kind of do their own things ... and create new characters ... if it's the same people, the fans will alway see me as Elena and they'll see him as Damon if we do a film together."

"I think it would be better [if] either he should get it or I should get it, but I know that apparently he's really great for the role, so I hope he gets it!"

Another pair of famous vampires, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, have been talked about at length as good fits, especially considering that James initially modeled the books after Edward and Bella from the Twilight saga.

I have read all 3 books, books 2 & 3 do explain a lot of the things you didn 't get in the first book. I laughed a lot and cried a lot in these books. I don't think Pattinson and Stewart should play the parts, I really don't know who should play the parts but I think Ian would be good. Not sure on the Anastasia part. the movie should be interesting for sure.

To even pull off a movie version of these books requires an actor & actress with more depth, maturity and mystery than some of the actors/actresses being suggested. The series may be consider as 'mummy porn' but there are serious psychological aspects of the characters that the author fails to explore satisfactorily in book one...maybe on purpose she leaves their motivations and psyche to our imagination to read on...hoping 2nd and 3rd books fill this out. Regardless, my actor/actresses to add to the lists out there (popularity thrown out the window) are Matt Bomer (White Collar) and Bella Heathcote (Dark Shadows). Some of you commenting may be too young to remember 9-1/2 weeks which failed in the Box Office so i hope Hollywood learns their lessons from this failure and explores the undercurrents of the real developing personal individual conflicts and relationship between the characters apart from the BDSM.

Kellan Lutz definitely or Alex Pettyfer

Ian would make a great Christian Grey. Second choice is Henry Cavill.
For Anastasia I'd love to see Lucy Hale.

I think Christian Grey should be played by either Kellan Lutz or Chris Pine-I think they both fit the description great. They both have copperish hair. Ana Steel, should be played be Lucy Hale or jennifer lawrence
