I think Jessica is technically the better singer, but I feel something authentic when Phillips sings. His style touches the soul. I don't think we are voting for technical singing ability, we are voting for a total personality. His renditions of Home and Volcano were very special. He brings something unique and heartfelt to the music scene.
Brooke White's tears come from the authentic, good soul that she is. Her heart was breaking because she was overwhelmed with the experience she had with the show and the gift that it brought.
