Mitchell Guist Died of Natural Causes, Autopsy Reveals

History Channel star Mitchell Guist, who appeared on Swamp People alongside his brother and passed away following a fall from his boat, died of natural causes.

So states the official autopsy for Guist, E! News confirms, though Sheriff Mike Waguespack of the Assumption Parrish Sheriff's Department in Louisiana says "more details will be released when the final report is made" in four to five weeks.

Mitchell Guist died Monday at the age of 48.

Guist was pronounced dead at Teche Regional Hospital in Morgan City, not long after falling into the water from what appears to have been a cardiac incident of some kind.

He left behind his brother Glenn, a fellow alligator hunter on Swamp People.

He was only 48?? I thought he was much older. How does one die of natural causes so young??? Something just doesn't sound right about this. Anyway, RIP Mitch.

I lost my brother and sister a few years ago so I know what it's like. I loved your way of life so much I couldn't wait for the next show. Please stay with the show so I can continue to live my dream through you.

Glenn you and Mitchell, were the reason I watched Swamp people. I always had a smile on my face. Seeing you fishing and the excitement you felt when you made a good catch. Mitchell, you will be missed, and Glenn, so sorry for the loss of your brother. You were originals and I could see how you cared about one another. Stay stong Glenn.

Glen, the highlights of Swamp People have always been you and Mitch. He went too soon, yet we all know that "The Final Moment" is never up to us. Mitch would have never left you if he had any say in the matter. You will find a way to go on. The swamp will strengthen you again. Our sincere sympathy to you and your family.
