Child's Anti-Gay Song Lyrics Lead to Death Threats For Church Pastor, Members

by at . Comments

Members of the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle Church in Greensburg, Ind., are getting more than they bargained for after posting a video online of a three-year-old congregation member proudly singing, "Ain't no homos gonna make it to heaven."

The kid's anti-gay church song references Romans 1:26-27 before the quote above.

The church office has been getting harassing calls and the pastor has even received death threats at his home. Meetings have been moved to alternate places and security has been ratcheted up in response to the negative feedback.

Pastor Jeff Sangl is extremely worried about his safety, and amid the backlash, he and his wife left for vacation without saying where they were going.

Despite the threats, however, no one regrets the song.

One church-goer said, "The people who are upset just don't read the word of God. If we don't teach the children the truth early they will never learn."

As for the thunderous applause after the disturbingly hate-filled song, another said, "Of course we applauded a child who is singing a song about God."

@Gerry: I agree that language is unacceptable. I also agree there are more straight child molesters & serial killers. However I would say that gay men are over represented in both those categories. Its disproportionate to their population size frankly. I've read suggestions that it may be because mental illness is also more prevalent amongst gays. GAYS ARE NOT MENTALLY ILL but i think something about societal rejection triggers mental illness. And that may be why they make up much much more than 10% of molesters & serial killers.

Dear Lol and any others You have a right to say what you feel but when you cross the line with offensive words you don't. Using the term "Faggots" is like using the "N" word, you have no right to call people out with these offensive words. Please check your facts most serial killers and child molesters are straight. Also please check your spelling before you post. Churches that preach hate of "any" kind should have their tax exemptions taken away.

Gays by Definition - an ego maniac with an inferiority complex. Where does the paranoia come from? Is it really that important to have your own separate identity? Calling out Christians is like saying all Germans were involved in the killing of millions of Jews. You hate judgmental people yet you scatter shoot when you place blame.

I think gays are now more visible and now getting the same treatment as other minorities. Plenty of youtube videos about kids berating Jews, Blacks, Mexicans, women, mentally challenged and the physically disabled. There are even stormfront videos of toddlers wearing swastikas or holding up nooses. And have you seen the stuff they post about prominent women????? Not every battle is worth fighting and gays need to understand that. This little episode may have cost you allies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Gays;
The Church does NOT believe that orientation is an immutable characteristic. They believe that it is a consequence of early childhood and can be fought. Dear Religious;
The gays do NOT believe that they can fight it as they believe this is how they were made. NOW SHUT UP BOTH OF YOU AND RESPECT THE SANCTITY OF THE RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH!!!

The Bible says that gays will not go to heaven. Read Revelations. Of course, there is always the chance that a gay person will repent, turn from their sin, and THEN they can to go to heaven.

Not every gay made death threats, and not every Christian is a bigot, but this does show how sad the world is that both are done in the name of god or justice. Neither is evident here.
