Child's Anti-Gay Song Lyrics Lead to Death Threats For Church Pastor, Members

by at . Comments

Members of the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle Church in Greensburg, Ind., are getting more than they bargained for after posting a video online of a three-year-old congregation member proudly singing, "Ain't no homos gonna make it to heaven."

The kid's anti-gay church song references Romans 1:26-27 before the quote above.

The church office has been getting harassing calls and the pastor has even received death threats at his home. Meetings have been moved to alternate places and security has been ratcheted up in response to the negative feedback.

Pastor Jeff Sangl is extremely worried about his safety, and amid the backlash, he and his wife left for vacation without saying where they were going.

Despite the threats, however, no one regrets the song.

One church-goer said, "The people who are upset just don't read the word of God. If we don't teach the children the truth early they will never learn."

As for the thunderous applause after the disturbingly hate-filled song, another said, "Of course we applauded a child who is singing a song about God."

@Franzi: It sounds crazy because as the Bible says "I have hidden my ways from the wise". Only when you have an intimate encounter with Jesus can it begin to make sense. So your skepticism is totally understandable but I pray one day, you do meet Christ on your road to Damascus. When you do meet Him and let Him in, you will also realise that the stuff you see here does not reflect the true Body of Christ or even Christs own teachings.

@Ajshoe: Paul tells us to use our words to edify (build up). If your words cause people to run from God, you are committing a sin yourself. When people accept God, the Holy Spirit goes to work on their hearts. Stop sabotaging the Holy Spirit and deal with your own sinfull heart - as I deal with mine.

@ajshoe
So you believe that people fourteen hundred years ago were given the word of God? Were they given leprechaun gold too, because that sounds about as ridiculous.

@Clark: Jesus did take a whip to the money changers in Matthew but Jesus is sinless. He is completely exempt from the "judge not" rule. Further, he is not just the Son of God, HE IS GOD. He may pour out his wrath as he pleases. You and I on the other hand are sinfull beings. Our only salvation lies in Grace and in obeying Christs commands i.e. Love the Lord your God and LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR. @RdDallas: I am sorry my people cause you so much pain. But dont let them keep you from God. Let the Lord speak to your heart. If theres a better way, He will surely reveal it if you listen.
