Bath Salts: Were They Behind "Miami Zombie" Attack?

by at . Comments

Police and doctors are reportedly blaming "bath salts" for the bizarre, grisly behavior of Rudy Eugene, who began devouring Ronald Poppo's face last weekend.

We're not talking garden-variety aromatherapy products here, though.

The term "bath salts" can also be used to describe illegal, designer street drugs that have been linked to violent delusions and even death, investigators say.

Either the zombie apocalypse is nigh, or Eugene was on something strong enough to prompt a psychotic, gruesome meltdown that seems incomprehensible.

Police were forced to shoot Rudy Eugene when he refused to stop eating Poppo's face; He growled at them, naked, and resumed feasting before being killed.

It took multiple gunshots to take him down. Ronald Poppo is a homeless man with no known connection to Eugene and is in critical condition at a hospital.

Bath salts were also blamed in another Florida incident in which a man overdosed on the drug and died. Similar cases may prompt stronger DEA action.

The DEA banned chemicals commonly used in bath salts: mephedrone, MDPV, and methylone. Sale of these items now results in federal drug charges.

At least 38 states have enacted bath-salt bans, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures, instituting penalties for possession and trafficking.

Of course, because bath salts are made by "street chemists," there's really no way to know what chemicals are actually contained in any given quantity.

There's also no medical test to detect bath salts in a patient. "The only way we know if someone has taken them is if they tell you," one expert said.

It's all a government conspiracy! Salts do NOT make you act this way and if they do they only give you the energy to do what you wish you had the energy to do when your not on them. Sometimes people are just f**king crazy! Maybe he thought god told him to do this? I bet if thats what he said there wouldnt be anybody trying to ban religion then he'd just be crazy but because we cant explain it everybody says he was on bath salts. I've stayed up for days on this shit and didn't want to eat a cracker little lone somebody's face! LOL you people are so fuckin dumb! Hahahaha

There are some unusual facts related to this case. First, Eugene's
girlfriend reported that he woke her up at 5:30am telling her he
had to meet a "homeboy" and leaves the house uncharacteristically
"early". Now who gets up at 5:30am with the intension of taking
"bath salts"? Second, he calls her stating that his car broke down and that he would return home in an hour. Again, if your car breaks down the last thing you want to do is to take some kind of crazy drug, right? Most people would want to take some action to repair or secure the car, especially in a big city like Miami. Third, the fact that he was to meet up with a mystery "homeboy". What was so
important to Eugene that he would have to get up at 5:30am in order meet him? These facts suggest the possiblility of a set up of some

I used Bath Salt 2 weeks in a row and didnt sleep at all (what ppl around me at the time said). Some my guess would be If this incident was drug related it consisted of a large amount of whatever drug it may have been. With that being said I believe as well a mental issue or two. People just dont do this if they are normal!

Of the hundreds or thousands who use the drug only one case of this??...riiigght...and the trade buildings were terrorist attacks too right? Complete cover,

well...I have used bath speeds you up..kind of like a cross between coke and meth...and it never made me do or feel any of the things being "reported". I never hallicunated, became violent, aggressive...anything like that at all.. certianly didn't stip naked and start growling like a wack-o. if he was on drugs, it sounds much more like PCP or something like that. All that being said, I no longer use bath salts nor do I condone drug use by myself or anyone else and personally never use anything stronger than a cup of coffee and a cigarette these days. While I disagree with virtually every claim I have read and heard about them, especially regarding this bizarre incident, I do think they are a menace and should rightfully be outlawed.

I agree with #1s comment when he said you can tell if someone was drinking even if they dont tell you. The police have been dealing with violent criminals on Bath Salts for over a year now. I know this because a year ago I myself was on Bath Salt and I went absolutly CRAZY violent and dont hardly remember a thing. What I do remember is delusions (halusanations) to extreme extent that I never had before being a hard street drug user. The use of the Bath salts made me zombie like in many different ways in a very short two weeks time using it. Im just saying I would probably be able to pick a Bath Salt user out of a crowd before someone thats never used or delt with them. So the thery of the attacker being on Bath Salt isnt too far fetched for me.

I am also skeptical but to give the other side of the argument, the whole taking off your clothes and wandering off might be associated with it. So based on someone going crazy and following a common crazylike ritual it can be deduced that it was the same drugs well known to have similar effects. Drunk drivers don't tell the police that they're drunk, it's usually easy to tell without even take a breathalyzer test, just the way they act and talk

Sadly where i live alot of people are on bath salts and i believe that he was using it. It makes u go insane, literally insane. It makes u hallucinate, causes paranoia and skitzophrenia among other things. There is no zombie apocolypse or government conspiracy. Its a major drug problem thats only gettin worse and people arent doing enough to stop it. Maybe this will finally open peoples eyes. Its scary.....

Smoke shops are selling synthetic drugs labeled as bath salts and glass cleaner. They are not typical salts that you would pour into a bath. It's real. It's causing schizophrenia and now zombie like behaviors. The f d a bans the dangerous ingredients in the substances & chemists come up with new formulations that are not regulated. Please google & make the public aware of the danger.
