I bet she'll do her homework next year. Truly, if I was the mother, I wouldn't be publicizing this — she's clearly a bad parent for not making her daughter live up to her responsibilities.

Teacher here. If the mom had no idea there was a homework issue, then SHE should get her own "catastrophe - parent has head in clouds and no accountability" award. We handed out awards this week. That one is funny and should be taken as such. Signed with a smiley face is NOT an ill-intentioned situation. We have brain-stormed MANY a teacher meeting to come up with awards for students that are disruptive and disrespectful all day. Best door holder, fast runner, etc.

I look at it like this...if that kid would have done her homework like she was supposed to, then that "Catastrophe Award" nonsense wouldn't have happened. Case closed.

The mother should be embarrassed she can't get her eight yr old daughter to do homework! BS she has no idea. I would be asking my kid everyday if she had homework or not. See this is why kids act so crappy!

Although I don't agree with what the teacher did, the girl should have done her homework and the parents should have made sure she was doing it.
