PHILLIP PHILLIPS!
Not exactly a shocker, huh? The guitar-playing crooner was considered a favorite from his very first audition, considering his similar qualities to every other American Idol champion of the past five seasons.
Jessica appeared genuinely happy for Phillip upon hearing the announcement, as Ryan handed Phillip his guitar, Phillips took the crowd "Home" and eventually dissolved into tears, heading into the crowd to hug his parents.

Congratulatn Philip! I'm not an American but was enjoyn it up until Joshua lost.Joshua&Jessica were both consistent wk after wk and this is what it takes to be a winner&idol.Philips would hav been honoured in a different way considering the health challenge he was going through.Out of sentiment America got it wrong this time.
Please Phillip won and he deserved to WIN!!! He has a awesome voice!!. Jessica is nothing but a loud mouth screamer who can only do ballads. she has no stage presence!!! Maybe all you whiners out there should listen to music a little bit more instead of running your mouth. Because you dont know what good music is!!!! and its not jessica!! SO GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!
Phippip won because he was the best. Joshua was a screeching Holy Roller......Skyler was a backwoods hick......and Jessica was a way to skinny greaser Mexican. So get ovewr it America!
American Idol you suck and so does the show. How many times have viewers stated their concerns about how votes can be applied. You should have only one vote and the show should see that the reason that people are turned off is because I best hardly ever wins! But then again this is a fox Network so we should be used poviding 2nd class TV.
