Ted Nugent Quotes: The Best of the Crazy!

by at .

Ted Nugent is in the news this week for, well, saying some seriously nutty stuff.

We at THG fully believe in the First Amendment, and aren't about to jail the guy for his views, but even the rightest-winger must admit that his recent rant against Barack Obama and the administration was out there, at least in terms of his phrasing.

And his defense of it - "I'm a black Jew at a Nazi-Klan rally" - was sort of hilarious.

As you might expect, this wasn't the first time Nugent has gone off on a political issue. The guy isn't shy, we can give him that.

With that in mind, we present a few of the crazier Ted Nugent quotes from the past few years:

[On Sarah Palin]: She's coming from the street, she's coming from the we-the-people rank-and-file. She makes sense when she talks, she says all the right things, she's sincere, she's knowledgeable, she's articulate, she's damn good-looking, plus she kills moose. How can you go wrong? | permalink
The war is coming to the streets of America and if you are not keeping and bearing and practicing with your arms then you will be helpless and you will be the victim of evil. | permalink
Apartheid isn't that cut-and-dry. All men are not created equal. | permalink
I am Rosa Parks with a Gibson guitar. | permalink
I have busted more hippies' noses than all the narcs in the free world. | permalink
Obama, he's a piece of sh-t, and I told him to suck on my machine gun ... Hey Hillary, you might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless b—t ... Any questions? Freeeeeeeeeeeedom!!!!! | permalink

Actually that was Bush who signed indefinite detention into law as part of the Patriot Act. Obama just never outlawed it.

To Loma: The shotgun he had was a not a fully automatic shotgun. Those are not legal to purchase. Along with that felons currently cannot own firearms. Before you can purchase a gun, the Federal Firearm Licensed Dealer has to call the FBI to do a background check. After the background check passes the dealer than can sell the firearm. The firearm is then registered to the person. Please educate yourself on the laws and please work on your "knowledge" of firearms before making a comment.

Nugent is a Conservative from Michigan who hunts and plays guitar. Wow, he's really out there! - I'm with Sweaty Uncle Teddy The Backstrap Assassin. Let's ban "repeat offenders" and "multiple felons" and not the guns.

I have no problem with anoyne who can and will defend themselves, their family and community in the clear cases where there is necessary; what I don’t agree with is his statement about having no gun restrictions. I don’t see how you would honestly need a fully automatic 12 gauge for self defense. Now don’t misunderstand, I would love to have access to an array of automatic firearms, but I also wouldn’t have a problem registering and being licensed to do so. I don’t like the idea of a convicted felon being allowed to purchase some serious hardware as he’s already shown the tendency to make bad decisions. Reasonable restrictions are wise; but we need to keep an eye on who’s making the laws and what they’re trying to pass so we will not be fooled.
