Russell Brand is doing well, thank you.

Returning to his roots - bachelorhood, plus standup comedy - is the ideal way to move on from his marriage to Katy Perry, which ended this winter after 14 months.

To hear Russell tell it, he has no reason not to be well.

Waxing philosophical about life, he says, "You don't need to brush it off if you don’t get it on you in the first place," he says, not specifically defining what "it" is.

In Good Spirits

The 36-year-old sounds downright zen in adding, "I don't have to let anything go. I don't hold on to anything negative. It's the same as zero-ness."

Asked if that's part of his yoga philosophy, Brand notes. "It's not about letting it go," he says. "You can't let go of something you don't hold, you know. It's meaningless, [and] much of our world is predicated on meaninglessness. And I just don't do that anymore."

As for his upcoming late-night show, which is due later this year on FX?

Who knew Charlie Sheen may not have been the biggest sleazeball on the set of Two and a Half Men?!?

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, co-creator Lee Aronsohn said his sitcom is nearing a deal to bring Ashton Kutcher back for a 10th season, adding that he isn't a fan of many new comedic programs that feature women - such as Whitney and 2 Broke Girls - because they talk too much about their lady parts.

"Enough ladies. I get it. You have periods," Aronsohn complains. "We’re approaching peak vagina on television, the point of labia saturation."

Aronsohn - who later tried to back away from his comments, saying Two and a Half Men specializes in fart jokes and he has no right to judge - added that he makes no apologies for his show's less-than-flattering depiction of women.

“Screw it,,, We're centering the show on two very damaged men. What makes men damaged? Sorry, it’s women. I never got my heart broken by a man."

What do you think of Aronsohn's critiques?

We recently posted a photo morph video showing the changes in Britney Spears' face over the span of 30 years. Save for that bald-headed crazy stint, she's aged well and is still as beautiful as she was as a fresh-faced teen sensation.

Lindsay Lohan's face in the same video form? Hmm ...

We're not trying to imply anything, but do you think the morphing images below show an appearance shifting due to aging alone? Or are effects of drugs, alcohol and/or plastic surgery also evident in Lohan's transformation? You tell us:

Whitney Houston passed away in February, but fans will still get a chance to watch her on the big screen in August.

That's because the singer had just finished filming Sparkle when she died, a remake of a 1976 movie in which she plays the matriarch of a musical family.

In various interviews since Houston left us, Jordin Sparks - who makes her Hollywood debut as Houston's daughter - said “it was amazing to walk into work and then Whitney is sitting in her chair blasting gospel music and singing,” while producer Howard Rosenman added that the legend “is unbelievably brilliant in [the film].”

The Today Show gave us our first look at Sparkle this morning. Watch now:

Cissy Houston, meanwhile, recently spoke out on her daughter's death and said she did everything she could have done to point Houston in the right direction.

Most people would be shocked to learn that Lauren Conrad of Laguna Beach and The Hills fame is a New York Times best-selling author, several times over.

Lauren Conrad is one of those people.

“We were doing the inside cover of the beauty book I’m working on, and under ‘also by’ it listed all my other books. I was like, ‘When did this happen?’”

Three years after she made her writing debut with the L.A. Candy series, she’s back on shelves with the first book in a new trilogy, The Fame Game.

In Love With Lauren

In stores tomorrow, it follows Heidi Montag-like character Madison Parker, another Audrina Patridge-like character, and two other Hollywood hopefuls.

As they star in a new spin-off series and adjust to life as reality TV stars, obvi.

There’s a soap opera’s-worth of drama, a fake-it-for-the-cameras relationship, and a whole lot of mascara-tears. How much of it did she pull from real life?

Quite a bit. The entertainment value in Conrad’s page-turners is about separating the moments based on LC’s behind-the-scene anecdotes from fiction.

Ted, a non-animated film from Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad) and starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis, appears to be utterly absurd.

Wahlberg plays a early 30’s guy who meets and falls in love with Mila Kunis’ character. There’s just one thing that can get in the way of their courtship:

His childhood teddy bear, who walks and talks with attitude.

Yes. We're serious. And even more surprising than the fact that this film exists is the fact that it might actually be funny. Like Family Guy quotes funny.

Check out your first glimpse of Ted & co. below ... a very NSFW look. Repeat: This trailer is for mature audiences only. Or immature, but still of age:

Ryan Leaf is in major trouble with the law. Again.

Just two days after being arrested for stealing prescription pain medication, the former number-two overall draft pick was booked this morning in Montana on new counts of burglary, theft and criminal possession of dangerous drugs.

The latest arrest is "based on a burglary that happened yesterday afternoon after he bailed out," Central Montana Drug Task Force Commander Chris Hickman told reporters today.

Leaf - who had been scheduled for a hearing in court today based on Friday's charges, which were based on the discovery of 28 Oxycodone pills in his pickup truck and the testimony from an acquaintance that Leaf broke into his residence to acquire them - is also in violation of his probation (stemming from a 2009 arrest) and cannot be released from jail at the moment.

The former quarterback was a standout at Washington University and was drafted second (behind Peyton Manning) by the San Diego Chargers in 1998. He never came close to fulfilling his promise and was out of the league by 2001.

Alec Baldwin turns 54 years old tomorrow and has found the perfect way to celebrate: he proposed over the weekend to girlfriend Hilaria Thomas! And she said yes!

"Yes, it's true!" the actor's rep tells Us. "We're all excited for the newly engaged couple."

Hilaria Thomas and Alec Baldwin

Baldwin divorced Kim Basinger in 2002 and went through years of an ugly custody battle with his ex.

He remained out of any long-term relationships until he met Thomas, a 28-year old yoga instructor and co-owner of New York's Yoga Vida yoga studio.

She was born in Mallorca, Spain; grew up between Boston and Spain; and studied dance and art history at NYU. The two often write to each other on Twitter.

We wish this couple a lifetime of happiness!
