Lady Gaga Slammed For "Pop Singers Don't Eat" Tweet

Lady Gaga is a major advocate for anti-bullying campaigns and LGBT rights, but she's come under fire for a Tweet she recently posted about ... eating.

Yes, in what some critics are interpreting as a pro-anorexic statement, the outspoken, wacky-dressing singer recently told her 22.6 million Twitter fans:

"Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat #IWasBornThisWay," the 26-year-old posted.

Even though she was eating a salad (maybe she's just dieting?), the backlash started rolling in, accusing the pop star of supporting eating disorders.

"Seriously what is Lady Gaga playing at? In her last tweet she put #PopSingersDontEat. What a great role model she is..." one Tweeter posted.

Added another Tweeter:

"@ladygaga I'm stunned that you would promote such an unhealthy attitude towards food to your fans when you claim to be so righteous."

So far, no response from Gaga on Twitter, and since she's not doing interviews for awhile, don't expect a public comment anywhere else.

    Everyone has taken it the wrong way and she had an eating disorder herself I think she was making a statement on the music industry, plus she said she just had a salad herself so shes not condoning anorexia

    Let's not forget Lady Gaga is a 26 year old, with a pretty distorted view of the world/reality. She lives in her gaga fantasy land.... fine, whatevs. But all the kids that adore her have it pretty different i'd imagine. Let's try and stop putting so much focus on celebs... when you ignore something it disappears!

    Its been hard days night and I've been thinking of this gay guy I met in the Philippines. The place was called BICOL and I met Oliver Quininto, a black complexion gay guy that captured my heart in many ways. We did things I can never imagine in my life, I had a very great time with him and he told me that he just went back to BICOL coz his having a 3 days off from his work. We went to a restaurant called pala-pala and ate seafood and wow that made our day. THe next stop was a hunting trail in Binalbagan Bicol and it was very tiring treck we walked 2hours by land and by rivers wooohh but that was amazing. It was a long day and both of us wanted to take a rest, so we went into a hotel and started fixing our things, I've known Oliver for a dayu but my heart felt something strange towards him, but I kept it to muyself until the day we both part..
